Hotel Corte San Pietro and extraordinary place in Matera Italy
Hotel Corte San Pietro in Matera Italy is one of the most unique stays I’ve ever experienced.
The owners Fernando, Marisa and the extraordinary team of Corte San Pietro were so welcoming as soon as we arrived to the front desk, we were received with a smile and shook our hands like if we were family.
For the owner and staff gave us a bottle of wine as a special gift.
The breakfast area is not like any continental place where you serve yourself, you have wonderful people providing personalized service while a live pianist is delighting us with his music.
We truly appreciate everything during our.
We were so happy to be here. Everybody is so delightful and accommodating. The place is amazing!
The hotel have walls of stone and we had a cave with high 20 foot ceiling round shape and I was astonished.
I highly recommend to come over to one of the oldest places in the world but especially to come over to the hotel Corte San Pietro

Staff was very helpful in all matters from setting up dinner reservations and in room massages to immediate attention to equipment malfunction we experienced. We did the private suite with pool,sauna, and steam shower in room and it was amazing! Once in a lifetime experience!in room

Fabulous stay
What a rare gem- an absolutely charming small hotel built into the caves of Matera. We were greeted by the lovely and helpful Annaluce who later on set us up for a great tour the next day and arranged for a better room with less stairs for our old knees. The room was stunning - spare with antiques but it had all the amenities - great showers , comfy beds , lovely view and fresh fruit on arrival . Breakfast was a hit as well, set in a lovely room with live piano music and the most charming hostess with a million dollar smile who was so kind and fun- food is varied and to die for.
We had a fantastic stay and hope to get back to this lovely hotel soon.

Hotel to stay without fear.
Excellent welcome in a charming, comfortable, and very clean hotel. Its location in the heart of the sassi is exceptional. Thank you again to the manager for her warm and personalized welcome.

Beautiful but antismetic
This hotel was beyond magical, very well designed, the staff was spectacular and the food was amazing! However, when we arrived to the hotel they had a Palestinian flag on their roof. Now, being a person from israel that is in conflict with Palestinians that felt very threatening and not welcoming. They had realized we were from israel and took the flag off in hopes we don’t notice it. But, I noticed it the moment I arrived! I loved the hotel and decided to stay but in the back of my mind I was always in fear that something may happen. This is antisemitism in my opinion and that is my
One complaint about this hotel. Anyone can have their political opinion but you don’t have to have it flying in the air. We could have caused a commotion and leave the hotel but we were too tired for that. However, this isn’t the right thing to do as you never know where your guest may come from and everyone should feel welcomed and safe!
