Good hotel

Standard and comfortable European room at this price range. Great location close to transit and train station. Bring your own toiletries. Unfortunately our shower drain wasn’t functioning properly and was backed up. 15 Euros for breakfast seem standard pricing but steep as you can find cheaper options near by.

Clean hotel. Poor breakfast.

The hotel is situated on the outskirts of the centre of the city. The location means one can walk to the centre with ease - even in the summer heat, it is tolerable. The rooms are a good size and clean. The bathrooms are not ventilated so get very hot very quickly.
The staff at reception spoke great English and seemed friendly, always acknowledging us as we arrived and left.
Breakfast was a letdown. The pastries were stale. The milk was sweetened and tasted horrible, meaning I couldn’t have cereal. The water machine was challenging to use. The lady running the service was friendly. I felt for her with the poor quality foods.

Positive surprise!

I was at the Mokinba Hotel Baviera for two nights on a business trip in early June 2026. The hotel was chosen by a colleague due to its location and cost, and when I read the many negative reviews, I actually wanted to rebook immediately.
In the end, however, I went along with it and was pleasantly surprised throughout.
My room was a bit small and without frills (which one cannot expect otherwise at that price), but it was clean and, above all, equipped with a functioning air conditioning system. The bed was also comfortable, although it was a bit close to the door.
It was a bit unfortunate that the cup provided in the bathroom was just a simple plastic cup. A proper glass would have been nicer here.
Where I cannot understand the many negative reviews at all is regarding the staff. At the reception, all employees were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and customer-oriented.
The breakfast is simple, but there is coffee, fruit, juices, croissants, yogurt, etc. Not spectacular or high-class, but that is not unusual in Italy either.
All in all, I would definitely recommend the hotel and would book it again. Given the low price, one should not expect luxury, but rather a solid hotel that adequately covers the most important requirements - and that was exactly the case here!
