Very good!
My mom and I had a fantastic time at Domus Orestea. From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcome. Marco and Monica are incredibly welcoming and do everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
After a long journey we were extremely hungry. When we told them that, they immediately offered us some fresh fruit with great pleasure.
What we particularly appreciated was the tranquility and relaxed atmosphere. It is the ideal place to completely unwind. If you need anything or have any questions, you can always contact Marco and Monica. They will be happy to help you. An extra plus is that they work with a taxi service, so you can easily arrange a taxi at a fixed and cheaper rate.
Our room was cleaned every day and everything was always in perfect order. Also the pool was large, clean and perfect for cooling off or just relaxing. The breakfast was good.
What we also really liked, was that breakfast was served at one large shared table. That created a cozy atmosphere and gave the chance to get to know other guests and have fun conversations.
There are also plenty of good restaurants in the area, so you always have a choice to go out and eat.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much. Thanks to the hospitality of Marco and Monica it really felt like coming home. We would recommend Domus Osteria without a doubt to anyone looking for a quiet, cozy and warm place to stay.
The only small downside for us was that there was quite a lot of light entering the room in the morning. There is a hatch and a light-emitting curtain, but for us that did not stop enough light. As a result, we woke up every morning around half past five. In the end, we solved that easily by hanging a towel in the window.

Wonderful!
A beautiful place to choose to relax in Palermo! The property is beautiful, the room was spacious, very nicely designed and decorated with a separate living room and directly attached gorgeous terrace. The garden and the pool outside are dreamy and wonderfully tended. Monica is an exceptional hostess, extremely kind and always ready to help and making the guests feel so welcome and cared for. She is also ready to accommodate individual wishes and requests for preparing an excellent breakfast. One couldn’t have wished for better!

Disappointed - its a B and B and not luxury at all -
Disappointing on arrival to find the description given in booking.com in no way matched what was on offer- have a look at the reviews and many write they were also disappointed that none of the facilities promised were actually available. NO room fridges TVs - welcome packs - no beauty , and you live in the house with the owners and have shared living areas with them, Constantly made to feel uneasy asking for what we had expected and paid to find .Sad to start our holiday disappointed and having seen the number of people commenting which seems to result in no action I feel compelled to write so others are not disappointed too. They need to address the descriptions as thy are completely misleading

An oasis of calm in a buzzing city
We came to Palermo on a 4 day city break at the end of June. Initially we couldn't decide whether to stay in the city or Mondello but we were so happy we chose Mondello and the Domus Orestea; it's an oasis of calm in an otherwise busy city and having the pool and garden to relax in was much appreciated after a day trekking around. It's in a very quiet neighbourhood and we spent a couple of afternoons just lounging by the pool listening to the birds. We were also pleased with our choice of room; we booked the Junior suite with pool view and often had the pool to ourselves. The bed was really comfortable and we also had a small shaded patio area to sit in. Monica and Marco were excellent hosts; attentive without being overbearing and we enjoyed chatting with them. This is their family house and it really does feel like a home from home. We split our time between Mondello and Palermo centre - Mondello beach is about a 30 minute walk but the buses to the beach are really regular. Palermo centre is about 20 mins from Mondello by bus, the only issue is that the service finishes early for the return journey so we caught taxis both nights (arranged by Marco so no hassle at all). This was a small inconvenience in order to stay in what was amazing accommodation - we can't recommend it highly enough.
