Very unique, not for everyone…

Spectacular location, a medieval stone structure restored in a simply perfect way and immersed in three thousand hectares of forest, a UNESCO heritage site. The masonry and stone finishes are very accurate, while the decor is a bit messy, paradoxically D'Annunzian. Stylistically poorly integrated, for example, as well as very uncomfortable, are the floor-level oriental-style seats, while the bare dark wood refectory with wrought iron accessories is perfectly balanced and coherent. The micro-rooms also have a certain charm, with the toilet separated by a curtain. Rooms where - as in the rest of the hotel - there is simply absolutely nothing non-essential.
The food is good even if not memorable, strictly vegetarian, and the staff is courteous and helpful. There is a somewhat worn-out jacuzzi, and the yoga classes held in an environment with a spectacular view are excellent.
A place certainly not for everyone, designed according to the singular and forward-looking conviction of the owner, a capable, multifaceted, and visionary entrepreneur with a fascinating history behind him.
According to this vision, the "luxury" of the near future will not be the resort that offers you more gadgets but the one where the spirit of the place is essentiality, sustainability, broad-spectrum spirituality, silence, and digital detox.
In my opinion - with the rest unchanged - a few small extra "comforts" such as the availability of a fridge, a well-lit reading room, some comfortable armchairs, a toilet equipped with a door, and little else would not change the spirit of the place while making the stay much more pleasant. But that is just my opinion and, in any case, it is not certain that Eremito is only the first installment of a more complex story.

Unique but not for everyone

An exceptional and truly unique place, set in a totally remote location within a vast natural reserve. The atmosphere is deliberately medieval, and the concept is that of a “contemporary retreat.” There is no WiFi and almost no mobile coverage, which is intended to help guests disconnect and reconnect with themselves and nature. Silence, meditation, and simplicity are strongly encouraged throughout the stay.
The rooms are inspired by monastic cells: very small, minimal, and stripped down to the essentials. While this simplicity fits the concept, comfort is limited. The rooms are better suited to single guests (particularly not very tall ones), and are not ideal for couples. Privacy is also minimal, as the toilet and shower are separated only by a curtain. Beds are small (around 140 cm at most), which may affect sleep quality.
The refectory is beautifully atmospheric—dark, candlelit, and very much in keeping with the medieval theme. Silent dinners are imposed, creating a contemplative experience. It’s an interesting concept and manageable given that meals are relatively short (around 45–55 minutes).
Food is strictly vegetarian, simple, and largely organic, with many ingredients coming from the property’s own garden. While the quality is respectable, the menus tend to be repetitive and lack creativity. Wine is basic, not presented or explained, and only available during meals. Although the retreat emphasizes organic practices and minimal packaging, there are inconsistencies (e.g., supermarket tea bags, wine stored in large plastic containers before serving). Water comes from a well and tastes good, though guests must request carafes to serve themselves.
There is a pleasant wellness area with a steam bath and jacuzzi, though it is only open for a limited time (4–7 pm).
The surrounding walks are somewhat disappointing, with rather rocky terrain and limited scenic variety. In many ways, the setting encourages staying indoors for reflection rather than exploration.
Overall, Eremito offers a distinctive and contemplative experience, best suited to solo travelers seeking silence and introspection. However, the value for money is debatable, given the high price relative to the level of comfort and the simplicity of the food and amenities.

The best experience of my life.

I left only yesterday this enchanted Paradise!
A unique experience, probably the most beautiful and unexpected of my life. A stay entirely in digital detox, where being 2 days without a mobile phone seemed a drama and instead nothing was missing. I found myself again even if only for a short time but a GIFT that I can never cancel.
It is all unique, from the people who work there and always have smiles for everyone, Marcello is a wonderful man of great wisdom. The food is simple but great and made me appreciate the true value of mealtime.
I will definitely return and especially recommend it to anyone who needs, like me, to disconnect all the switches and think about yourself *, appreciating the simplicity that is the true value of Life.
Thanks again... for everything

Unforgettable experience

I have just returned from a stay at the Hermit and can not wait to return. A dreamy atmosphere, regenerating for body and spirit. Very helpful staff, food cooked with simplicity and love. Every detail expresses authenticity and beauty. Thank you

Finding peace of mind

I needed to unplug in the true sense of the word, I needed to find peace, I needed silence to find myself. And so I left alone and reached Eremito. I finally did something for myself and came out excited. I found what I was looking for but also much more, because the people I met enriched me and I will carry them in my heart. Cleanliness, excellent vegetarian cuisine, a unique panorama, simple but beautiful rooms, spa, a large living room with fireplace and then Marcello with his being hermit and father of life make it wonderful to stay here.
Ps: not recommended for those seeking luxury and comfort, it is not a 5 star hotel but a hermitage and you have to share the essence to fully appreciate it. I will return and for more days. Thank you to each of you.
