The hotel itself is very beautiful! I suggest everyone that spend a couple of days in Milan to spend one night in Pavia and this hotel.

A 500€ Nightmare: Total Bait-and-Switch, Broken Doors And furniture, and Arrogant Staff
Website vs. Reality: A Total Fraud
The pictures online promise modern, luxury accommodations. What we actually got for 500€ a night was a massive disappointment:
The Room: Extremely basic, heavily worn down, and visibly dirty. The furniture was stained and dated—nothing like the "palace" advertised.
The Security: The entrance door to our room couldn't even lock. It looked like it had survived a million police raids. For 500€ a night, we couldn't even feel safe traveling with our child.
The Excuse: "Two Owners" & Known Issues
When we complained, the management gave us a bizarre, unprofessional excuse. They claimed the property has two different owners and that our room was one of the "unrenovated" ones belonging to the other owner.
Shockingly, one receptionist even admitted that they always face issues with this room." If management knows the room is a disaster, why are they still charging 500€ a night for it?
Shocking Customer Service & Extortion
The staff's handling of the situation completely ruined our holiday. They treated us with pure arrogance and coldness:
No Help, No Discount: When we asked for a price reduction, they „tried to reach the owner“ whom (surprisingly) couldn’t reach and refused ANY discount whatsoever.
Take It or Leave It: Since it was May 1st (a major holiday), they knew we were trapped. They told us we could check out, but they would charge us the full 500€ for the night anyway, essentially saying, Good luck finding somewhere else."
The Next Day: When we tried to negotiate a lower rate for the second night, they arrogantly told us to just leave if we weren't happy with the price.
Obviously we pulled the plug and checked out.
Final Verdict: Avoid At All Costs
We contacted Booking.com for help, but unfortunately, they were unable to resolve the issue with the hotel. This place takes your money, gives you a run-down room, and then laughs in your face when you complain.
**Do not book here.** They are using beautiful photos of renovated rooms to trap families into paying luxury prices for substandard, broken rooms. **NEVER COMING BACK.**

The entrance is through a residential apartment-style building with trash bins at the entry, and the elevator accommodates only one person at a time, creating an uncomfortable first impression and an inconvenient stay.
At a rate of $360 per night, this experience falls far below reasonable expectations. Visitors come to Italy expecting authenticity, hospitality, and professionalism. Misleading accommodations like this damage trust and create a disappointing impression for tourists.
