My stay

Nice hotel with friendly staff. I wouldn’t call it 4 star hotel myself unless it underwent some renovations. Breakfast was good but there could be better options. It was good for the price.

Grumpy staff, cleanliness equal to nothing, and food (let's not even go there)

Ok. Decent. Staff "questionable".

Arrived around 9 p. Dark. Hard to find parking. "Ck in " guy from Antigua and he spoke only French. Town feels Caribbean. Watch that one. He tried to charge my card $1000.00 euros too much. Kept my passports til I thought about it at 3 am when I was awakened by noisy drunks. Got my passports back after I woke him up. Poor guy ; he was there fixing our coffees in the morning. Decent breakfast. He had a friendly helper from Ghana. I paid $euro 15 to park in "really dark " small garage. Will fit maybe 4 cars. Hotel big and full. Close to town , streets noisy; and close to ferry. Seriously get to ferry only one hour before departure. Timed entries for cars to Elva. Good hotel for one night. Small shower adequate. Had hot water, .refrig. Nite lights, TV and wi-fi. Clean! I would stay again. Less stars due to "sketchy staff". (He tried to keep my California Drivers Licence too. )

Experience not to be repeated

I spent two nights there for business reasons and would never stay there again.
The hotel is old but mostly poorly maintained.
There's carpet everywhere, even in the breakfast room. This leads to a lot of dust and poor hygiene.
The bathroom was decently clean, but the dust in the room made the stay unpleasant.
Embarrassing breakfast, pies and croissants packaged, as bread only pancarrè and as cheese thin. Personally I am perfectly fine with having a limited choice but it is unacceptable that a 4-star hotel offers such food. They should improve the quality. On the second day the room attendant was talking on his cell phone when we arrived, he ignored us, and after 10 minutes we had to go next to him to ask for coffee. She kept talking on the phone while she brought him in.
We had booked parking 15 days before and when we arrived they told us they were wrong and it was all full, so the first night we had to look for another solution.
Soundproofing is non-existent, despite being on the third floor we could hear all the noises from the street.
I give two stars and not one just because the lady at the reception was kind.
The place could use a major renovation. Or if it is not possible, at least more cleaning and care also by the staff.
It's not even cheap and I can't understand how it can have four stars.

1 star and a half....

Honestly embarrassing. It's been years since I've found a facility of this level of services offered so poorly. Breakfast and dinner in relation to the embarrassing cost paid. The only justification is the winter period which, given the location, can limit its presence, but which despite being a 4 star cannot fall below certain levels of standards. I struggle to remember situations like this even in those few 2 stars frequented.
