BUT HOW GOOD IT IS!

I of this hotel except for everything: the location, the convenience of parking, the immense garden, the characteristic and large common areas, the decor of the rooms (simple and dated) but very functional in detail, the breakfast buffet always stocked and not least the staff.
If I really have to find a defect, we thought the headboard of the bed uncomfortable, whether you watch TV, whether you want to read, it is difficult to lean even using two pillows.
Otherwise we were really very good.

Good location, clean, about 10 minutes from Vallombrosa - maybe a bit dated.

Historic and very impressive structure, strategic position located about 10 min from Vallombrosa.
Well-kept and flowered outdoor gardens.
Room average (bathroom a little small).
Very elegant breakfast area.
The village of Saltino (FI) is small but quite alive, for dinner we went right under the structure, excellent first courses, red wine and finally cantucci and vinsanto.
Possibility to park the motorcycle in the courtyard of the structure (free).
Maybe not really youthful clientele, I don't know if it was the period but most were middle-aged tourists.
The hotel CLOSES at 11.00 pm...

Good location

The valley, the abbey, the library are really impressive
Excellent dinner with Tuscan wine
Recommended the winter night to enjoy the few people... almost no one... really nice, good service, good rooms good savory and sweet breakfast, salty only eggs and bacon nothing more but ok

I would recommend the restaurant for those looking for traditional cuisine

I only went to the restaurant. I am very satisfied.
The cuisine is simple, but executed with care and and according to the canons of Tuscan cuisine.
On the menu I found dishes, which my grandmother used to prepare for me when I was a child, such as pasta and beans and Tuscan stew

Hotel, or nursing home?

I had to attend a seminar near Florence and booked here because it was the closest hotel that had a disabled room available. I had read a lot of reviews, so I had a vague idea of what to expect, but the impact was equally bad. The property is from the early 1900s, but is fully accessible thanks to various ramps and an elevator. Unfortunately, however, it seems to be in a hospice because the guests are all elderly disabled. Camera okay. The only serious flaw is the lack of air conditioning, in fact we are in the mountains, about 1,000m. above sea level, so even in summer it is cool, especially at night and even with the winter blanket you risk sleeping little and badly.
