Great location and lovely staff

The hotel is in a fantastic location. The main sites are easily walkable, so much so that I accidentally stumbled on a few when I went for a short walk when I arrived to get my bearings.
I was travelling solo and this hotel was perfect for that. They have single rooms so no supplements for a double; it’s in the same piazza as the Italian parliament so there’s always a police presence, and no one loitering outside the hotel; and there a dozens of bars and restaurants around the hotel so I didn’t need to venture far for food.
The rooms are dated, but they’re clean, and the bed was comfortable. There’s plenty of storage and a safe. And the shower was powerful and hot. There’s a hairdryer in the bathroom and toiletries provided. There’s also a mini bar which is chargeable. It was extremely warm in Rome when I was there but the air con kept the room cool enough for me. It doesn’t blast out but it clearly works as the room was never too warm.
The hotel staff were really friendly and helpful. The bar staff would bring my drink to me on the terrace at night with some snacks, which was a nice touch. The terrace was a huge bonus. I loved sitting out in the afternoon and evening for an hour to get away from the crowds and relax. There’s also some chairs at the hotel entrance where you can sit, and the lobby is a lovely space with good air con.
Breakfast was perfect for what I needed - a quick bite before an early start on sightseeing. It had mostly continental with a few hot things. The croissants were lovely! There was also a coffee maker and juices available too.
I was very pleasantly surprised with this hotel. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it.

A place we always return to

We have stayed at this hotel several times and from the last time to the present, many improvements have been made and from the entrance you can notice the changes in floors and furniture, the rooms are totally new and super comfortable.
Breakfast is still in the same place and it is fine, it would just be missing more variety of fruits and waffles.
It has been a pleasant surprise the changes for the better that were made.

Highly Recommended

Just returned from a week at Colonna Palace Hotel. Can't fault it. Staff were so helpful and location is perfect for seeing all the sights. Rooms cleaned every day. Good breakfast and nice little bar to finish off the evening. Hand rail in shower would have been helpful.

Ok option

It’s in a nice location, you can walk pretty much anywhere but the beds are not the comfortable. Also, our safety didn’t work, we told the front desk but the guy never showed up. Really safe place, a lot of police around

Fantastic location, clean rooms, beautiful lobby and exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. The only critique is that the rooms/furnishings were a bit dated, but in keeping with the old world charm of the building and location. Great breakfast included and the staff at breakfast were incredibly attentive. I would stay again.
