Good place to stay in Rome

Very clean. You leave in the center but street noize will not bother you if you close the window. Location is perfect - 3 mins to Terminy. You have a few supermarkets around. Easy to walk to all main places to see in the city. Staff is friendly.

Poor service, dirty rooming house in a rundown warehouse building

We got to Hotel Max on Sept 17 at around noon, As per Expedia check-in was 2:00 pm, At the reception it says check-in 4:00 pm. They d not do not have an airport shuttle, that is false. The man was rude, not helpful and terrible overall. Once he had our money he did not care.
The pictures shown are not true likeness of the room. The room was tiny, no space for luggage or anything, bathroom was dirty and shower had grime around it. The overall location is in a rundown neighborhood. AC was very, almost non-existent and WIFI was very poor. I was scared to go in and out of the building alone. Expedia should not be selling this property at all. That is a NO STAR rooming house.
I paid for 4 nights and left after the first night. I would like to get my money back for the 3 nights

Don’t stay here

Not really sure what our money is used for in this hotel. Very few rooms and the walls were dirty, shower leaked onto the floor, toilet didn’t flush, wifi doesn’t work and the ac didn’t work in the 35 C heat. Surely upkeep and maintenance can’t be that hard when there are only like 15 rooms? Towels and linens at least seemed clean. One of my worst stays ever, you’ll be more comfortable in a 36 bunk youth hostel.

Don't expect much

Place is close to Termini and around 20 minutes walk from Colosseum. Price is low but standard is not high I must say. Place should be a bit more clean, breakfast in covid time looks more like snacks than breakfast. Inside time stopped in 90'. If you are a bit bigger person you might struggle to fit in the shower. If you going there for short stay you will be fine. But if you planning to stay for a week I would recommend some other place.

Exactly what we wanted!

The important thing about a hotel is what you expect to get out of your hotel. If you’re the type to be looking just for a clean comfy bed to sleep in at night on your trip then Hotel Max is perfect for you, as it was for us.
Everyday the room is cleaned and freshened, yes it is on a busy street but the windows shut tight and you can barely hear the noise. All reception staff were friendly and helpful.
We learnt fast in Rome to see the main attractions in relative peace you need to be out and moving by 6am, therefore we never encountered the breakfast and cannot comment.
A stones throw from the train station and easy to walk to the main attractions too.
(Advice for eating out. Read trip advisor on all places before entering. Plenty of tourist traps around. Eat where the locals eat. Better food, better prices, better service).
