Clean room, great location, helpful staff. Receiving the code to enter the building in advance would have been helpful.

Our first time to Rome and this room diminished our enjoyment of Rome!

You should know there are several locations under the "Nerva Accomodation" name in Rome, Italy. The one we stayed at was located at Piazza della Suburra, 2. Make sure you have euros on you to pay the tax - it was 5 euros per person per day when we stayed in April 2026. The positives: it was steps away from the Cavour metro stop, it was in the Monti district, and about 10 minutes away from the Colosseum. The A/C worked well and the room was clean. The negatives: check-in was a nightmare, the bed was rock hard, the bidet leaked, the outside noise was a problem, and the location was sketchy. We were a little confused on where this hotel was located. Its on the 2nd floor, behind an unmarked door of an apartment building. To get a code to the outside door, you have to call. We didn't know this and someone was leaving as we arrived so we walked in. But without any signs, I didn't know it was on the 2nd floor. Also, the door on the 2nd floor had no signs. I walked to the top of the 5 flights looking for it, no luck, walked back down, we called, and that's when we were told we had to call to get the codes. The code to the outside door AND the code to the inside 2nd floor door. These instructions were not provided to us during any of our booking or confirmation emails sadly. There is no elevator so we carried up our luggage to the 2nd floor. Upon arriving in the warm, very small lobby, there was no one and we had to wait around 20 minutes for the lady to arrive to check us in. Once she arrived, she checked us in and gave us the code to our door room. In the room, it was smaller but adequate. The A/C worked great. However, the bidet leaked and I didn't realize it and slid and almost fell walking into the bathroom that first night. The bathroom door wouldn't stay shut. The bed was rock hard and by the 2nd day my hips and back were hurting from sleeping on it and my husbands' shoulders were hurting. The noise from people talking loudly, laughing, partying outside kept the other couple we were traveling with up late into the night. We were further down the hallway and didn't hear that noise. However, we could hear the rumble of the metro train. Not too loud but it was there. The area is sketchy as it is RIGHT next to the metro station and that had all kinds of people loitering around the area. If you walked a block or two away, it got much better so I don't recommend getting a room spitting distance from a metro entrance. For the price we paid for our 3 nights, I would have expected better and I booked this based on several good reviews. I have come to believe that those reviews were at a different location than this one. I do NOT recommend anyone staying here. Its way too much for way too little.

Mum and son trip to Rome. Brilliant place, very easily accessible for the terminal and other major sights. The Colliseum is 10 minutes walk. Safe area, would book here again

Constructions+annoying staff+extremely poor soundproof

Pros:
The room was clean and the location is very central.
That’s unfortunately where the positives end. I honestly don’t understand why this place has so many good reviews.
First of all, this is not really a hotel, despite how it’s advertised. On top of that, the building is under construction, which is not mentioned anywhere beforehand.
The soundproofing is extremely poor - you can literally hear breathing, movements from other rooms, and every step in the corridor. Getting proper sleep here was almost impossible.
To make things worse, there was active construction right under my window, with workers talking loudly from early morning.
Another major issue was constant knocking on my door starting around 8:00 AM. When I arrived, there was no receptionist at the desk - a handyman checked me in and said I could pay the city tax at checkout. The next morning around 8–8:30 AM, the receptionist knocked on my door insisting I pay immediately because she was leaving soon.
I hoped at least Sunday morning would be quiet, but again at 8:30 AM someone knocked on my door, woke me up, and said “ah no, nothing.” About an hour later, the same thing happened again - it felt like they were just checking whether I was still inside.
Once again: you can hear everything in this building.
In the end, I got almost no proper rest. All of this seriously affected my stay in beautiful Rome - instead of enjoying it, I felt exhausted and irritated.
I would not recommend this place if you value sleep or basic privacy.

Very effective HVAC device in the room that was amazing. The location is incredible and the staff was friendly. The room was a disaster.
The bathroom sink is not vented properly and horrible smells filled the room. The shower is like 3x3 feet with no curtain so the bathroom gets soaked. There is mold and water damage throughout the bathroom, especially behind where you are supposed to hang your towels as so much humidity is trapped there. The room is RIGHT next to a set of stairs going down to the subway so it is extremely noisy and the subway itself shakes the building until it stops running at 2 or 2:30 in the morning.
It may be worth it for the amazing location, but I'm too old for a place like this <3
