Satisfying

At first glance, the room didn't impress us...
But we changed our minds as the bed was very comfortable, the room was quiet despite being in the center and the staff was very very helpful...

A lodging from hell

This is not a hotel but a 2 star lodging masquerading as a hotel. It’s on a nondescript lane going to Trevi fountain so very hard to find. No front desk and someone waits for you with a key. The entrance is a shame (disgustingly dirty) and the owner a rude and horrible person. If you don’t speak Italian don’t go as they don’t speak English. They have me 3 sets of keys and when one wasn’t working I called they kept saying try to wriggle it ... it works others are staying aren’t they? There is a guy on the phone who you never see but who speaks English . My AC just didn’t work so after multiple complaints the owner came , said he couldn’t do anything about it threw the AC remote on the sofa bed , made an obscene gesture said you don’t like you go ... after taking all my payment for 4 nights stay.
Next day early morning I moved to Hotel Barberini 5 minutes away.

Great location

Stayed at these apartments for 4 days great location right in the middle of cobbled street that had trevi fountain at the bottom . On entering the hallway looked a bit scruffy but our room was safe secure nice bed . Coffee machine but no cups but we just bought 2 so not a problem really . Great bathroom with piping hot water . At top of street you can jump on the 71 bus and go all the way to train station then jump on train to the beautiful tivoli gardens a fantastic day out for less than 20 euro well worth the trip and you get to see alot of Rome on route.great restaurants on your doorstep . All in all a great place

Think NYC basic

We noticed on our reservation that there was no front desk so emailed the hotel to find out how we would check in. We agreed on an arrival time based on our train schedule. There is a door with several buzzers but no reference as to whom these buzzers belong. The maitre'd at the restaurant next door pushed the correct buzzer for us and a gentleman came to answer. He did not speak much English but we communicated ok. There is a small elevator that goes up to one floor. On this floor there is a make shift desk with a telephone to use if something is needed. We did use this phone and it functioned just fine. You get a key to the outside door, a key to this area and then a key to the room. The safe is somewhat a joke as it is small and not attached to anything. The room itself is not large but we had two large suitcases and two roller bags and they fit in fine. There is a patio but it is shared with another room. We did use it but not a big plus. The room was cleaned every day. It was advertised that breakfast was included in the price. When we asked about this we were told that there was a problem with that and we would be refunded 10 euros a day to compensate for this. We were reimbursed for that. It is not a great room to be raved about but it was fine for our 4 day visit. The location is good, The Colosseum etc. is about a 20 minute walk. We are in our 70s and 60s.

Disappointing to say the least

Arrived at night, no way of getting in. The restaurant next door rang the owner, so we had to wait till he arrived. You are greeted by a heap of rubbish bins just inside the door , steps up or take a broken down elevator.the carpet in the hall is very dirty, the wall are shocking. Once you unlock a large door there are 3 rooms off a messy office corner. The walls inside our room were filthy, it said free water , got none the cleaner didn't really clean , we had same towels & sheets for 3 nights . Noisy if you leave the windows open but it's too warm to shut them . The safe isn't bolted down & is small enough to just carry away. Breakfast is in a cafe down the road , not a good breakfast unless you like sweet cakes .The water pressure is not good , but the bathroom is new ,no washing machine like the ad said The best thing is the fabulous Location & the room sizes are good . Not good value for money . I booked the Elegance Suite thinking it would be just that , I was wrong. I don't think I would recommend this place to my friends.
