Heavenly!!

General Manager Homer welcomed us to the lobby with a warm welcome, which we have never received in dozens of Trips,
something never seen before. Suite 702 with panoramic terrace, breathtaking views, very quiet and really effective air conditioning. 5-star restaurant service, starting from all the staff with a commendable education and availability. A mention, if possible even more special for the exceptional dishes we have tasted: dishes and unparalleled quality of products, ergo : there is no Michelin-starred Chef who cares. Very good everyone!! We will return because we miss you already. Thank you.

Wonderful, friendly, hospitable staff and a well managed hotel

Today we drove across Sardinia from the coastal town of Santa Maria Navarrese on the West coast of Sardinia arriving on the Isola di Sant’Antioco around 2pm having set off early at 7am. We stumbled across the Hotel Maladroxia and managed to book a room for the night at just €70 per night with buffet breakfast. On inquiring at the front desk for room availability, the two front office ladies were very friendly, cheerful and helpful. The hotel has plenty of parking space as well as having a bar with lounge area, free wifi throughout the hotel and it has a very good restaurant with nicely prepared food at a reasonable price. There is an outside shower for use when returning from the nearby beach, just a five minute safe walk from the hotel. Its a fine sand beach and the water is very shallow in the cove. In fact you have to walk out some distance to become out of your depth. The beach has lifeguards patrolling as well as the usual concessions such as a cafe and bar. The room where we we alocated at the hotel was bright, cheerful and clean. A standard double bed, onsuite bathroom and it has a flat tv and small in room refridgerator. There are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room but the bar downstairs can provide these.
So impressed were we with this hotel that we decided to stay an additional night. Our room was already alloted to other guests arriving next day however, those guests were given another room instead which from our point of view was great.

Birthday celebration- July 2015

I spend an evening on the new and beautiful hotel terrace overlooking at Maladroxia bay celebrating my birthday. It was a surprise party and I was well impress on the organisation and professionalism of the staff! The canapes were well presented and our waiter Chicco tailor some drinks for the occasion which were absolutely delicious. I had a great evening and I strongly recommended to anyone. The setting was perfect for a beautiful summer evening and the service was second to none!

good value 3-star hotel

The Hotel Maladroxia one of the more comfortable 3-star hotels I have stayed in and is just 150 yards from the beach. The common areas were that the hotel was bright, fully tiled floors throughout, with pine furniture and doors and this seems to be the theme throughout the hotel.
No lifts but we had a first floor room so not really a problem. The room was decorated and furnished in the same theme a the common areas and may have been renovated fairly recently.
Our room was at the rear of the hotel, absolutely no views but it was quiet. The double bed was wide and comfortable, air conditioning, TV, small fridge, no coffee or tea making equipment, the range of the free wifi network just stretched. The en suite had a shower, no bath, but was a little on the small and dark side. One thing lacking was somewhere to hang wet beach clothing and towels, although belatedly we did find an area on the fire escape for drying clothes - I believe some of the sea facing rooms on the upper floor have balconies where one would normally do this.
Dinner was served on the open fronted terrace with a view towards the beach. Our 3-night stay stretched the choices on the €15 and €18 fixed price and the à la carte menus. The food was good but was not going to attract gourmets from around the world. An excellent continental style buffet breakfast was included in the price.
There is one other restaurant in Maladroxia, the Buckaka at the Hotel Martinelli, just up the hill from the Hotel Maladroxia. The view from the restaurant across the bay is spectacular. There are more choices on the menu and the food was also good, perhaps slightly better. Apart from that, there are two beach bars / pizzerias

Lovely place for relaxed meal overlooking the sea

We ate in the hotel restaurant on a Friday night in august. Not an obvious place to find, but despite being fully booked for the evening, they rearranged some tables for us on a lovely terrace with a view of the surrounding vegetation and the sea. Most restaurants in the area focus on quality of food with a disregard for ambience, but the Hotel Maladroxia managed to pull it off: chilled music (and not too loud!) great service, nicely presented food, and the set seafood menu was excellent value for money. So if you want a change from the usual Santantioco eateries, I would recommend this place. On Fridays they also do a pizza offer, the pizzas looked great. Can't rate the hotel, as we didn't go inside, but will return to eat there again
