This is a great hotel!
Very convenient to everything. Located just about 8 minutes walking to the station. The rooms are very very clean and comfortable
Breakfast was very good, the breakfast room gets very hot during summer, but that’s everywhere in Sorrento.
The staff are very friendly and always willing to help.
The hotel is in the middle of a busy street full of shops, restaurants and bars, however no noise prevented us from a good night sleep
There’s also supermarkets within walking distance

Would not return

We just finished our stay at Hotel Del Corso in Sorrento. We traveled through Germany, Switzerland, and Italy, so we had a lot of experience with hotels and bed and breakfasts. Our room was small at this hotel and frankly not up to our cleanliness standard. I will attach the photos I took of our room when we arrived as there was hair and stains on our sheets and all over the bathroom and shower. Our shower also leaked so everyday our bathroom was flooded and we stood on soaked towels until housekeeping could come.
Breakfast was your standard European breakfast, but the people running the kitchen were very adamant that you sit at a certain table even with no one in the breakfast dining area. The hospitality was not as great as we had experienced in the other countries/parts of Italy. I attempted to fill up my water at breakfast and one of the workers ran up to me yelling that I can’t fill up my water and it is only for breakfast and to use the rusty water spigot instead.
Another thing we did not love was turning in our keys everyday as we left. One day we put the do not disturb sign on the door and set up a shoe in front of the door to see if they came in and they still did, regardless of the sign. We came back from our tours everyday and our air conditioning was shut off as well.
The workers smoked cigarettes right outside of our door so our room smelled like smoke often.
We liked to grab a beer and sit on the balconies and enjoy the view. On our last night we were approached by a worker asking if we could pay for our stay that night in cash. We were caught off guard and told them we would pay, but not in cash as we did not have enough Euros on hand.
The balconies had a beautiful view, but the furniture looked like it had never been cleaned or even wiped off. The location of the hotel was great as it was in the main square and in close proximity to everything. Lastly, we were excited that they had a washer and dryer, but their sign said 15 euros whereas online it says it is only 10.
Overall, I would not stay at this hotel again. It was dated and I feel like you would have better hospitality and experience somewhere else.

Lovely city, lovely people!

Some people do their job well, and some people touch their hearts.
This post is dedicated to the amazing staff of Hotel del Corso Sorrento.
A year ago we planned a special vacation for Romi, who chose the hotel and the tour area herself. The suitcases were ready, the excitement was at its peak and then... the war with Iran broke out. The vacation was cancelled, we stayed with the suitcases in the middle of the living room and with great disappointment in the heart.
Janev, in pain of heart, turned to the hotel and asked to see if Vacher could still be accepted for future use, although there was no obligation on their part to do so. Shortly thereafter we received an email from Angelou... an email full of humanity, understanding and generosity – including a Vacher approval for a year.
We tried to reconcile, we rejected, we changed our teeth, again didn't work out, and again we tried. I called the hotel a few times, I talked to Angelo, Aurora...it wasn't possible to determine in advance. Between a war that wasn't really over, recruitment, date compulsions and flights, sometimes it felt like we were going through an entire Salome route just to get to this holiday.
This year it finally happened.
As we entered the hotel, Angelo welcomed us with a big smile and said:
"Here, after a year... you're finally here."
I'm surprised. There's countless guests going by here. Who remembers an exact story from a year ago?
But that's exactly what's special about this place.
The next morning, on the hotel's magical porch, I met Emma, who smiled and told me she remembered how much I called and insisted on coming to that vacation and to their hotel.
She also remembered!
And this is the whole story...
Not just a nice, clean, aesthetic and pleasant hotel, not just a perfect location.
But people!
People who see their guests.
People who remember.
People who give a real personal attitude, one that cannot be taught in a service class.
So thank you for the heart, for the humanity and for the feeling that we have come to the place that awaits us.
And thank you again for the important reminder in life:
“Nothing is obvious.”
