Peaceful and friendly

Situated above Stresa with views of the lake a peaceful hotel with friendly staff.
Simple but good breakfast and we are at the end of the season still delightful location
Not walking distance to the town... you are high up here... bit that adds to the peace.

gem in outskirts of stresa

This is a little gem located on up on the hill above Stresa. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Upon check-in I got a full overview of all the local points of interest, including hiking the L1 trail which was of particular interest to me and is right nearby. They sell bottles of water right there, which is helpful since the area is somewhat out of the way. Breakfast is good, including coffee made to order. If you get a balcony facing Lake Maggiore, it's a view that can't be beat. There's no elevator, but the stairs have short rises and are manageable. Room was simple but very clean and comfortable. If I ever visit the area again, this will be my first choice of accommodation.

Very helpful owners.

The owners were very, very helpful since the airline had lost our luggage. We borrowed cell phone chargers and they contacted airport authorities (in Italian) to help locate our luggage. We arrived very late (11:30PM) but they were waiting for us. Breakfast was excellent. It is very senic but too far from the city to walk and the road winds down the mountain quite a bit.

Jewel above Stresa

If you want to be in the center of Stresa or are afraid of mountain roads, this is not your hotel. Otherwise it is a little marvel. On top of Stresa on the slope of Mottarone you find a haven of peace. Wonderful views on the Lago Maggiore! A menu card with few but well choosen local plats. A rich breakfast. A friendly and helpful host. And all at a reasonable price.

Not bad, not bad.

First of all, location. It is, indeed, located 10 minutes drive from Stresa. But - it's 10 minutes on a very winding, narrow, mostly unlit road in the mountains. Going up to the hotel at night is a very unsettling experience.
The hotel itself is nice. The staff has limited English, but is very nice and helpful. The rooms are not small, though they lack some basic things like fridge and kettle. Wifi works well. The hotel is clean. The bathroom is arranged somewhat awkwardly. The view from our balcony was very nice. The breakfast is standard continental breakfast in Italy - it includes cakes, which is always nice.
In general, I would recommend this hotel.
