Good foothold in the center for a weekend in Trieste

The Guest House is located on the 4th floor of a building owned by Assicurazioni GENERALI in piazza della Borsa. Ours was a triple room, spacious with high ceilings, parquet floor, large bathroom with shower. There was no breakfast, nor the room cleaning (we learned this only on arrival, but having only two nights, it did not touch us too much). Good quality sleep, central area, bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity. There is no direct reception, you receive access codes and all information via whatsapp. We had the car and we used the nearby San Giusto Parking, three hundred meters from the building (20 euros per day)

Great location but would not stay again

The location was perfect and the room clean. Reception is managed remotely, the communication about check in and out was clear and timely. We did not see any staff on site during our four days, the room was not serviced at all during our stay. We can live with this. The biggest draw back was lack of air conditioning. There was an AC unit in the room but it was set to heat to 19*C or just fan, no cooling, the fan setting was ineffective. The room was stuffy, getting up to 27*C. In order to sleep we took to opening the window and putting up with the street noise. However we were both bitten by mosquitos.

Top quality/price

I have not stayed personally but I act on behalf of those who have. A very clean room, super central, the room overlooked the square, excellent value for money. A room with all the things you need. The reception was always present just in case even though it was a self check-in. Definitely worth considering again.

Good Location

Loved the location of this locanda. It’s within walking distance to all the main attractions within Trieste (except for Miramare Castle of course). Rooms were nice, clean and comfortable, although facilities were quite basic. Although there was an elevator to the locanda, you would need to overcome one flight of steps to get to the elevator.
The staff provided clear directions to the accommodation in advance and was responsive to any queries over WhatsApp. During the check in, she was very helpful and shared some recommendations and tips.
If you were driving, you could park at Park San Giusto, which was within 3 minutes walking distance to the locanda. There would be a 15% discount for the locanda guests.
Breakfast was not provided but there are several good eating options nearby.
