Perfect Tropea Hotel
We loved this hotel. Reception is knowledgeable and helpful. I loved the clean white and modern rooms (the only thing missing was a proper espresso maker which I found standard in all other hotel rooms in Italy). Cleaning did a wonderful job. We thought the breakfast and serving staff was kind and prompt. The pool is incredible. Comfortable chairs, the pool is the perfect temperature on a hot summer day. Drinks were delicious. The gym has everything one would need and overlooks the sea. Transport to town needs to be pre scheduled and was always ready and waiting for us. Getting back was a little tougher but manageable after we figured it out. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Très décevante
Very very disapointing. Does not deserved 5 stars rating, 3 stars at Best. The service was totally inexistant, people at the réception Could not care less about guests. We asked for help with luggages and nobody came within 30 minutes so we did it ourselves. No restaurant on site and the restaurant Linked to the hôtel is 3 km away! Not worth the Price.

Its a mystery that this is a 5 star Hotel.
It’s a resort&spa - without a spa..
The 5 star criteria say that it should have a restaurant and a bar. They have a collaboration with a restaurant in town. No free shuttle. You get a free glass of prosecco but you are a regular guest at a restaurant in town. If you want to eat home you have to go over the main road to a pizzeria in another 3 star Hotel.
No bar, just a pool bar that closes at 19.30.
A bottle of wine on your own terrace is strictly forbidden. Because you can just drink what’s in the minibar with no wine.
No lounge area.
No room service.
No ironing service.
No play area, tennis, paddle etc
Very limited shuttle service.
Lovely breakfast and a hardworking poolbar operator. All by himself by the pool…

Average stay
Small family run hotel. Location is outside of Tropea, not safe to walk to town. Need a car. Taxis are 20euros each way for a 5 min ride. The hotel has a shuttle to town which is 10euros for whole party… but never available. So pointless.
Reception is in a different building from the hotel… and not always manned. No one available overnight.
Rooms are good size, bathrooms are a very weird design. Shower is a wet room but floods everywhere.
The rooms are not well soundproofed… we had to listen to a couple arguing, slamming doors, locking each other out of the room for about 4 hours one night.
There is a mini fridge in the room with drinks… no free bottled water. Note on fridge to advise it is prohibited to bring your own food/drinks into hotel.
No bar facilities/restaurant after 7pm, nowhere to buy a drink nearby so don’t think they can prohibit buying drinks from town & keeping them in your room.
Breakfast is in a small old farmhouse. Poor breakfast. Same everyday.
Had to pay extra if you wanted eggs or pancakes. Was shocked by this as advertised bed & breakfast. Drinks at breakfast not cold.
Best part of the hotel is the pool. Didn’t open until 10:30 which is a shame. Pool bar opened at 11:00. The young man who run the pool bar was the best employee… always a smile on his face. He brought drinks to the loungers.
Unfortunately there was always noise around the pool as constant gardening going on… not very peaceful.
Two days before we were leaving they had diggers digging up the gardens, probably laying pipes. The diggers blocked the path you had to walk on to leave the hotel & I almost tripped over their makeshift path.
Wouldn’t stay again… 3 stars at the most!!!!

Extraordinary resort
What an incredible stay at ll Borghetto resort . The room were spacious, modern , spotless and equipped with air conditioning, fridge and balcony overlooking breathtaking views . Breakfast was delicious and the peaceful setting away from traffic made it the perfect place to relax . The infinity pool was beautiful , the bar served snacks , drinks and meals throughout the day . A car or taxi is recommended as tropea is about 15 minutes drive away , but it is well worth it . The service was extraordinary, the staff were warm and friendly. The atmosphere was calm with soft classical music adding to the relaxation experience. If your’re looking for a peaceful and beautiful place to unwind while still being close to tropea , this is the perfect choice . We highly recommend it !
