Great location but some negatives

We stayed in April where the nights were still cool and days were warm in Venice. The positives: We loved the location - walking distance from the train station (like 10 minutes) and it's right on a canal. It can be kinda busy during the day, mainly because it's near the bus/trains stations, but at night, it was very quiet on the streets. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, letting us check into one of our 2 rooms early since it was ready. The rooms were charming and each had their own attached private bathroom (with a toilet and a bidet). Loved the provided body soap and shampoo; smelled amazing! The bed was comfortable and the room was a perfect size for each couple. The breakfast provided at the sister hotel was delicious and ready early (meats and cheese and bread). The elevator/lift was small but did the job, especially getting our luggage to our floor. Our rooms were on the 2nd floor. The negatives: The air conditioner in our room was not cooling in our room (got up to around 78 degrees F) and we wondered if that was because it was April. We opened the windows to try to get some relief and listened to the noise of the nearby restaurant until around 1:00am (voices, laughter, chairs scraping the concrete). Needless to say, it was not a very good night for us. Also, be aware, that the lights and electrical plugs are only powered when you are there and have your room key in the light switch slot. My husband tried to charge some of his devices while we went to dinner and we were surprised to learn that the power to the electrical wall plates doesn't stay on when you're gone. Also what little A/C that it was doing, also shuts off while you're gone so there is no "cooling off the room". There was also a mix up with our room key with a front desk staff member who gave our 2nd room key to a random stranger. Imagine our surprise when we came back from sight seeing and ask to check in to our 2nd room only to be told they had already checked someone in and it was most certainly not us! Their solution, get ahold of the wrong people to get the key back and make us wait in the lobby while all this is happening. Thankfully they were able to reach the person after about 20-30 minutes to get our room key back (the teenager was in the room the whole time and was not answering their phone calls to the room so they had to call the dad who was out and about). We tried to get them to just give us a different room or some sort of "here's some money off for your trouble" but no. They did apologize. Customer service just looks a little different in Italy than America. Overall we had a good experience but with the A/C issue I don't think we would stay here again.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for sharing your experience. We're sorry to hear that your stay didn't fully meet your expectations. Your comments are very important to us and help us continually improve our services.
We need to explain that during spring time, when the nights are cold and the afternoons are warm, we have heat turned on after 6 pm, not air conditioning.
The air conditioning is turned on during summer time and it is working very well.
We apologize again for the room confusion, we didn't have another room available of the same category as the one you've booked.
We hope to welcome you back in the future to offer you a more pleasant experience that meets your expectations.
Best regards,
The Management

Location is perfect! Its ONE bridge to the bus station. That is unheard of in Venice! Especially with having to carry luggage this is sooo important! Its a tiny hotel that uses amenities from their sister hotel which is only a short little walk away. I got the deluxe room with two terraces and it has a perfect view of the canal. We spent so much time watching the boats and people from the terrace. It has really low ceilings and beams so a really tall person would struggle. Lucky for me I am short so it was perfect!

Highly recommend this stunning hotel. Everything is in one place, you can enjoy a canal view and a Venice atmosphere. The hotel near the train station is easy to reach with your luggage. Rooms are renovated and clean both the bathrooms and the room section.

Great experience

The hotel has very comfortable rooms, extremely helpful staff, a great location and it includes a very nice free breakfast at their sister hotel just steps away. On a canal, it has great views and tables on the canal. Would definitely stay here again.
