Lovely, clean and great location

I stayed here with my daughter's and granddaughter for 4 nights.
Our room was a quadruple, with 2 double beds, and while it was quite small, we still found it adequate for our stay, the cleaners came in and cleaned and left fresh towels every day, the guys on reception were efficient, but could have been a little friendlier, but that was our only gripe.
The location is fantastic, we caught the tram, which was a ten minute walk away, into Venice and cost us €3 return each, it took 15/20 minutes and was a lovely journey.
Mestre itself is really rather lovely, there were shops and cafes/restaurants all within a ten minute walk from the hotel, and a lovely market on a Wednesday and Friday, there is also a big shopping centre.
We would definitely stay here again.

To be avoided

Poor structure, unhelpful staff, ceiling with damp stains, a pseudo wardrobe made with 4 wooden boards and steel rods for concrete. I do not understand the three stars

Budget hotel, really like that they had streaming on their television. No kettle in the room, but they let you used the hot water dispenser and microwave downstairs. It's a very old hotel, but great for solo travelers. About 15 minutes walk to the Mestre station to get into Venice, unless you get lucky and catch the tram. I got in at 10am, they store my luggage while I went and explored Venice. There's a grocery store across the street to the left and a very nice plaza to the right, with a 4 story mall. Also saw two laundromat down the street.

Family stay at Hotel Centrale

The only good thing about this hotel - the friendly staff. Rooms are dated, our room was cramped for a family of 4, bathrooms dated. We found it very noisy outside through the night with construction work and early morning street cleaning from 6am, woken by bin men at 4.30am. It’s in a good location for restaurants, bus service and train station if you want to visit Venice

Hotel was fine. In a good location, close to the square. Sheets were clean and air conditioning worked.
