Small improvement needed

Well Its coszy and the location quit central but my reasons for a 4 is that refrigerator needs better management, plus no hot water in showers..and adds -ons like washing, drying and towels are too expensive for in house guest nothing complimentary

Best coffee and room punch in Jamaica

Best place in Kingston for good coffee, breakfast, brunch and drinks. Their iced mocha latte is among the best I've ever had in coffee roads. The blueberry muffin, banana bread and carrot cake are also to die for.
My dad tried their room punch but made a special order with fresh fruit in it. It's the tastiest room punch he's ever had. And then he has drunk rum punch in many different places in Jamaica.
I can imagine that Ragamuffin is a great place to study and work. Free WiFi, plenty of seats and AC.

Ragamuffin coffee bar

I had a coffee and rich chocolate brownie here, pretty tasty when I finally got it, it doesn’t seem like a coffee americano and a brownie would take long to prepare, but it took a while. The coffee was excellent! Pretty expensive overall, but good.

Well worth the stay, highly recommend!

I had such a great stay at Ragamuffin. I stayed for a week and a half in April 2022. I was a bit reluctant before booking as I didnt really know if I wanted to stay in a hostel in Kingston and I couldn't see much online. I initially booked 3 days to see how I felt, however on my first day I was happy enough to extend it. The whole place is really trendy and quirky. Hostel has a cafe which is open Monday-Saturday.
The dorm room is much bigger than you see in pics. Mixed room with a capacity of 20 but it doesn't feel over crowded when full. Room is well air conditioned and the individual beds are spacious and you have a private curtain and caged storage under bed. (bringing your own padlock is recommended, but they do sell them if you arrive without one).
Hostel has cooking facilities (stove, kettle, microwave, cups plates, fridge etc).
Filtered water is available in the communal area.
Well secured and has a double door you can only access with a fob. There is a staff member available 24 hours. They base themself in the reception area. Hostel owner Andrew and manager darius were really friendly. Darius who I saw the most was very knowledgeable about the area. There is a whatts app group you can join from a QR code at reception. Its convenient to organise things with other hostel members if you wanted to. Sunday dub club is a regalur trip.
Recommenations would be for there to be more vegan options on the cafe menu, have plug sockets by the chairs in the communal area and improve social media presence as it almost made me not book as I was a bit conscious there was little social media activity.
Overall such a great stay. I felt safe at all times and if I return to kington I would definitely stay here again!

I had such an good experience on Raggamuffin hostel. I have been traveling alot around the world and stayed at different hostels but this one have been the best so far. The people is so nice. And the food so good. IF I come back to Kingston more in my life, I will stay at this hostel again.
