Will stay again.
Staff was key for making the stay enjoyable, aided to help me get a room with private onsen (not available on expedia).
Peaceful and serene area, definitely helped me to recharge.

Cramped and Dilapidated Room

Booked a five-person room, barely fit three.
The room (1207) was in poor condition with numerous signs of water damage, cracks on the walls, and countless scuff marks from prior travelers. The outdoor bathtub sits precariously on a minimally maintained balcony. As you try to acclimate to the questionable conditions, the deafening roar of jet engines will shake you with the reality of the sour situation.
The Y3,300 buffet was decent with dishes using local ingredients but stifled by the limited variety and paid food and drink options. Additionally, there were no ice machines on the premises, requiring you to purchase a bag from their convenience store in the lobby or from a store outside.
Ultimately, we felt disappointed, uncomfortable, and unsafe that we immediately booked a ryokan next door and checked out that very evening.

It is a hotel with a good sea view.

I stayed here because it was a reasonable hotel and close to the sea. The entrance is bright and you can relax with a view of the sea. The room was on the 10th floor and looked good not only to the sea but also to Hakodateyama. The room itself was a normal type, but the seagull stopped in the windowpane and did not run away when approached to see if it wanted to feed, but looked inside for a while. I think the public bath was a little hot, but I was able to relax while looking out at the sea. The dinner buffet was delicious with seafood and Japanese and Western dishes such as crab (foot), salmon roe, etc. I think the breakfast was good, too, with a good number of items and a good taste. However, I think it would have been better if there were more soft drinks and ice cream. The souvenir section is full of everything from drinks to specialties, and it was very helpful to be able to send souvenirs and luggage up to the countryside for a shipping fee of 1,000 yen for purchases of 5,000 yen or more. You can take a walk to Yunokawa fishing port after a short walk. There was nothing concerning about the staff's response. On the day of the event, there were overseas groups staying at the hotel, but there was no meal time or congestion. If possible, I think it would be good to have a hand to take to the bathhouse.

I'm not coming anymore.

There are no repeats. The bath is good, it will be smooth! The food sucks, there is no squid or salmon roe in Hokkaido, not much good food, no milk. The service is not good either.

Relaxing Retreat at Heiseikan Shiosaitei: A Perfect Onsen Escape

We returned to Heiseikan Shiosaitei, a peaceful resort hotel in the quiet Yunokawa Onsen area. This was our second time staying here, and even though we chose a more affordable room this time, it still exceeded our expectations and was a great part of our journey.
The room, although smaller than before, was still comfortable and well-equipped. They provided yukata and slippers for us to use during the stay, adding to the authentic experience. The private onsen bath on the balcony was a real treat, offering a relaxing experience with beautiful views. The room also had a proper bathtub and toilet, making it even more convenient. Other amenities included an air purifier, a water boiler, a medium-sized fridge, two chairs and a table, as well as a dining table with two seats—everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
We went for the half-board package, which included both dinner and breakfast. Dinner was a highlight, especially the free-flowing snow crab. It was paired with a variety of tasty dishes that really showed off the local flavors. The breakfast was just as good, giving us a solid start to the day with some delicious Japanese options.
The hotel’s location is also really convenient. It’s just a 20-minute bus ride from the Hakodate Bus Terminal, so it’s easy to get to, but still far enough away from the city to feel like a quiet retreat.
Overall, Heiseikan Shiosaitei is a great choice if you want to experience Hakodate’s onsen culture in a calm and comfortable setting. With its great amenities, amazing food, and peaceful atmosphere, it’s a perfect spot for anyone looking to relax. Whether it’s your first time visiting or you’re coming back, you won’t be disappointed.
