It's worth making the extra effort to stay here

The town of Gora is nice enough and you may be tempted to stay in a bigger brand near the centre of town. My advice... make the effort.
A little secluded but in a good way. The views from the hotel down the valley whilst you soak in your in-room hotel spring water bathtub will make any effort you made getting here worth it.
Breakfast from the panoramic view restaurant equally breathtaking and a great way to start your day!

A private bath at your disposal is the best!

This is my second visit. The Italian course was delicious and I wanted to try it again. I didn't get the risotto this time, so I'd love to have a bite of it next time.
Thank you for responding to my 60th birthday request with less than 45 minutes because of the volume. The fresh cheese and prosciutto and fig appetizers were excellent.
But I couldn't eat the sirloin for dinner or the Western-style shabu-shabu salad of Wagyu beef for breakfast because the meat was too fatty. Older people would appreciate a fillet or lean meat. As ever, the Hotel Maid bread is delicious, and the focaccia was refilled, even though we said we had fewer meals.
As I thought last time, a private bath that you can enter freely is the best because you are not limited to the reservation time. There were two private baths, one by appointment, but from the early morning you could use both if you had room, and one if you went. From the terrace, you can see Mount Soun and soak in the hot water at leisure. The bathroom and tub are large, and I think there are three showers.
I always choose a room with an open-air hot spring bath, but since I have this private bath, I think a standard twin room with only a shower booth is enough here.
I often come to Hakone, but it was my first time at this time of year (summer vacations are crowded :) so I was impressed by the lilies in full bloom on both sides of the national highway coming from Gotemba. It was also displayed in the lobby and bar and was beautiful.

Small luxury on high ground

This is a small luxury hotel located on a hill in Miyagino, Hakone. Because it is on a hill, the view of the Gora townscape from the shared terrace and dining area is amazing. We were able to see the top of Mt. Fuji. It is particularly impressive to be able to see the whole view of Mt. Soun right in front of you. If you are going by car, it is a little difficult to find the steep slope and narrow road, so it is a good idea to check the video on the website in advance. The room we stayed in was a "Superior Room with Semi-open-air Bath". The view from the room was a situation where you could see the mountains through the gaps in the trees. The room was 42 square meters, which was plenty spacious for two people, and we had a large window on the side and a clean semi-open-air bath, so we were able to spend a comfortable time. The food in the dining area was also excellent. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious Italian food. There was also good wine. The seafood pasta for dinner and the colorful and beautifully arranged vegetables and quiche for breakfast were impressive. This is a hot spring hotel perfect for couples and married couples to relax in.

Quite nice

Located way up on a hill, the access is not friendly, unless you drive in dry conditions. I don't want to imagine what will happen in winter icy conditions.
The hotel has nice rooms with nice view of the area and very good Italian food.
The onsen is nice, but does not have an open-air bath, which some may not like.
All in all, nice hotel at a reasonable price.

a memorable stay

We stayed one night in this beautiful hotel and enjoyed all aspects: the room (spacious, neat and tidy), the restaurant, the spa. The staff exceeded all expectations to make us feel home away from home (Europe). We would highly recommend this hotel for your trip in the Hakone area.
