ONE OF THE BEST IN HAKONE

The location is immaculate
The service is commendable
The Front desk is absolutely fabulous and the help and service they provide makes the stay even more great
NADAMAN the Japanese is must try , not a set menu person so did not try the others
Only thing is the limitations of the area of no availability of dining options nearby but the Free Shuttle to MotoHakone that runs untill 7pm is a great help
Though there also you get an Italian & 7-11 which are open untill late and other places close by 5:30
The hotel is so great that if they arrange a good room service with options that cover all tastes one doesn’t need to move out only, 24 hours
There is also a bakery and some shops nearby that are there until 6
Overall this is a place you would love to come back to
The lakeside is picturesque and you just can’t get up once sitting and relaxing there , can see Mt Fuji very beautifully
The ropeway just opp the hotel is as good or sometimes better than the main one
Nothing more to be said , it’s a lovely place to say yes to
The place takes away the limitations of time Hakone has

Excellent hotel. A 10 out of 10. We will return.

An exceptional hotel. The location by Lake Ashinoko is unbeatable for visiting Mount Fuji. The room was very spacious and had all the details to feel comfortable. And the best part was the onsen; bathing there was an unforgettable experience. If I return to Hakone, I will choose this hotel again without hesitation.

Nice hotel but I would not return.

The hotel itself is nice, especially the surroundings, where you can take a walk by the lake and it is beautiful. You can see Mount Fuji on a clear day. The onsen is very good!!
However, I would not return to the hotel for the following reasons:
If you want to have dinner at the hotel (there is no other option), you will pay about 170-180€ (2 adults and two children). Since there is nothing else, they really rip you off. 50-60€ per person seems excessive to me, as it is not worth it. Breakfast is 80€.
To get there you can take the local bus which takes an hour and a half to arrive, or book the hotel bus which takes an hour. The rooms are spacious, although the bathrooms need to be renovated. I would not return just because of the rip-off.

Beautiful and lovely hotel located perfectly

Great location right down to beautiful Lake Ashi, beautiful rooms and surroundings at all. Two ‘gourmet’ restaurants, one French and one Japanese, which is good but expensive. The hotel buffet restaurant is the only negative - absolutely not worth the money.

Excellent stay at The Prince. The hotel has little extra touches that make this a luxurious stay. The onsen is lovely with a great range of toiletries and The Lakeside Grill serves a delicious buffet dinner. Due to the location we opted against the Hakone loop with tons of tourists instead we did the boat cruise and ropeway from right next to the hotel. We also did the forest walk to the shrine (take water with you). A quiet area but perfect for a break after the craziness of Tokyo. Wished we were there for longer.
