I definitely recommend it

The best thing is the food. The seasonal presentation and food made me realize how wonderful Japanese cuisine is, and for this price it's such a bargain I don't even want to tell anyone about it. The sashimi was especially beautifully presented and delicious, and I was happy that it was separated from the other tables. The bath in the room is reasonably priced but relaxing, the large communal bath is clean and tidy, and the kids were really happy with the free popsicles.
It's conveniently located in front of the station, so it's easy to get to by train, and the bus terminal to Ise Shrine is also nearby.

A great place to stay, but I have high hopes for the future.

It was an inn I had always wanted to stay at.
It's right in front of Iseshi Station, so the location is excellent.
Every room is equipped with an open-air bath, and there are plenty of amenities.
Both dinner and breakfast were really delicious.
Most of the staff who looked after us had lovely smiles and were very considerate, which I was impressed by.
However, there was one thing that was disappointing.
The staff who served dinner had the worst timing and consideration when bringing the food.
They served the food to people who had arrived after us, and stuck their fingers in the plates when bringing the food.
Honestly, I was shocked.
When I asked, I was told that they had only been in the business for a month. If customers could assume that this was the case, they were not fit to be professionals.
Even if today was their debut, as long as they are getting paid, they should be considerate enough to not make customers feel that way.
I really felt that each dish, prepared with skill and care by the chef, could taste better or worse depending on how the staff served it.
I asked them to call the person in charge for the unpleasant incident with the dinner service. However, I personally had doubts about the person who came out. I received their business card, but they didn't hand it to me, but just put it on the table. I was surprised at the lack of business etiquette.
At that point, I thought I would never stay there again, but the person who took over for dinner worked hard, and the hospitality of the breakfast staff was so impressive that I was impressed.
In addition, these incidents were shared properly, and I was very happy to receive apologies and consideration from everyone I met.
I will definitely stay again.

Noisy hotel

We stayed for two nights. Our room is at the end of the corridor, facing a main road. We heard police car/ fire engine siren several times during the night. Also, it was a rainy night, and we could hear the dripping sound of raindrops through the wall. Hardly sleep at all as I am a light sleeper.
Our room had an outdoor onsen in the balcony. It would be much better if there are clear instructions on how to use the onsen as there is a panel with only Japanese words on it. The hotel did provide a very simple manual in English but it did not explain well enough.
The breakfast provided at the hotel was the traditional Japanese style. The food was delicious and the portion was quite big. It came with my hotel package, and I think the hotel is expensive and not worth the price.

Good location as really next to railway station and bus station, not far as well from one of the main site for temples by foot.
Hotel is modern.
Rooms are cleans
Staff is so so.
Food is ok nothing special.

Excellent modern hotel

I only stayed at Ise Shinsen because I was able to find a decent price online that offered a rather steep discount, even after the extra fee charged for the Golden Week holiday season. A step above a regular business hotel, but below a high end resort, this place was a great combo of modern design and comfort with some traditional touches.
The big draw is the onsen baths. The shared public bath was nice, and completely empty both times I used it. The outdoor poor is very, very large and in the late evening it was quite peaceful. The traffic and city noise mentioned in some other reviews didn't bother me at all. Frankly, once the sun goes down, Ise is a pretty quiet town. The outdoor tub in our room was really nice as well, but the temperature control panel would be pretty much impossible to figure out if you don't read Japanese. Personally, I think the baths here were some of the nicest I've used at hotels this size.
We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant for dinner, but the breakfast was incredible. A multicourse affair, I was already full halfway through but pushed on through. The salad was great, and the grilled snapper fish was the highlight of the meal. See attached picture for a close up look at the various dishes.
I have a feeling that even when this place is fully booked, the public areas don't get so busy. Even during Golden Week, it was relatively quiet despite full capacity. The free drinks and snacks in the lounge on the top floor were a welcome treat after the onsen.
Only complaints were the lack of the usual sightseeing info like maps or brochures for the area, and the very early room cleaning. The cleaning people were already making noise in the hallways and emptying out the rooms before 8am.
If you can find a deal for this place, it's definitely worth a stay.
