The fly in the ointment, my husband had tummy trouble and hardly touched his breakfast.

It's an old hotel however we enjoyed our stay.
The food was plentiful and alright.
May I suggest to go easy on miso soup, either tofu or nameko, not together.
And slice the chives thinly.
The bath was nice esp the ladies, bigger as well.
Beware, it changes, a rotation between men and women bath happens as in any onsen.
It was so relaxing at the rotenburo especially at 6 in the morning.

Peace, onsen and tranquility on the ocean side.

Lovely hotel, clean, very beautiful view, spacious rooms where you can choose to sleep the Japanese way on a futon in a tatami room or western style in a bed. The rooms are 2 rooms in one. Yes the rooms/furniture may seem, to some of you, as dated but I assure you it helps to make a great atmosphere, everything works and it is clean. The food is excellent and the price is very reasonable to cheap now the Yen is low. The service is great, the bathing area is good with a big ofuro and the outside onsen, spa/rotenburo is spectacular with a view of the ocean and on the edge the ocean.
One word of advice, if you wake up early and take a bath, check which the dressing room side because overnight the dressing room sides are changed in case one finds the one side nicer than the other side and so every night is a change of male and female sides.
We will visit again.
English is well spoken, Hiro, the owner is doing an excellent job.

The best hot spring in Ito

This hotel is located near Orange Beach and Ito Marine Town Roadside Station in Ito City.
The front desk staff are very nice. The hotel has a Showa-era atmosphere and is a little old.
Because it was Christmas, a large (teddy) bear was wearing a Christmas costume.
From the Japanese-Western room on the fifth floor, we had a panoramic view of Orange Beach. There was a 6-tatami Japanese-style room and a Western-style room, and the Western-style room had a chair set, so we relaxed in separate rooms for two people.
The room also had a kitchen (but it is no longer in use), probably because it was a resort condominium a long time ago.
The unit bath in the room was not a small type, so it did not feel cramped.
The large public bath was on a rotating basis for men and women, was located in the basement, and had about 15 washing areas. The bath felt like a Roman bath. The shower head was large and the shower was strong, so it was easy to wash my hair.
To get to the open-air bath, open the door in the bathroom and climb the stairs.
It was a very nice, unobstructed ocean view. I could see Oshima in the distance. The water in the open-air bath was a light brown color.
When I went to the bath before 6:30 the next morning, the view of the sky and sea dyed red by the morning glow from the open-air bath was very beautiful. It was cold in the early morning, but the hot spring was very relaxing.
The washing and changing area was spacious, and there was a water cooler inside. Toners and milky lotions were also available.
We had dinner at the venue, but there were only two groups of us, and the other customers had already finished eating, so we were the only ones there.
We had grilled abalone, but I prefer it as sashimi to grilled abalone with butter, so I asked if it could be made into sashimi, and they made it for me.
When I have grilled abalone, I usually ask to have it made into sashimi, and they usually refuse, but they made it into sashimi here, which made me really happy.
The abalone was big, and my partner was delighted, saying, "If I had this at a sushi restaurant, it would cost me 5,000 yen!" The seafood hotpot, appetizers, sashimi, simmered rockfish, and rice pot were all delicious, and it was a satisfying dinner.
The sake was "Masumi Ginjo Dry" from Suwa, Nagano, which was rich and strong, and "Wakatake Junmai Sake Shihowari Tate Dry" from Shimada City, Shizuoka, which was new sake, was refreshing and delicious (1300 yen each, 300cc).
Wakatake was new sake. The dishes were perfect for sake.
The staff at the restaurant were also very calm and polite.
The breakfast buffet was also good. There were two sessions, from 7:00 and 8:00.
There were four types of raw dried fish (flavor, mackerel, pufferfish, salmon) that you could grill at your seat. At the buffet, most fish are already grilled, but if you grill it yourself, it won't get hard and it's delicious.
It takes a while to grill dried fish, so I thought it would be a good idea to bring the dried fish to your seat first and start grilling it, and bring other dishes in the meantime.
We also tried four kinds of pickled vegetables, simmered sardines with plum, and roast pork.
My partner was eating curry from a large bowl, so I said, "You brought it on a really big plate," to which he replied, "You only had a curry plate. The curry is delicious."
It was a great buffet, typical of Izu, with lots of dried fish.
Although it is a reasonable hotel, the staff were very welcoming and hospitable.
The hot springs and food were great, so it's a hotel I'd like to use again.

The building is old, but the interior is a great value hotel.

When I booked, the rate was cheap and there were some pretty bad reviews, so I was a little worried, but after actually using the hotel I realized that the reviews were completely inaccurate.
The building is quite old but has been renovated and the rooms are very clean, with both ocean view and beach view rooms, and ocean view rooms on the 6th floor and above have an unobstructed view of the ocean directly in front of you.
For dinner, seafood was served on the tables for families and groups, and the highlight was the huge boiled alfonsino, with one fish for every two people. If I had to find something disappointing, it would be that the parking lot is about a 5-6 minute walk from the hotel. I would definitely come back.

Not a beautiful hotel

As the building is quite old, both the interior and the hallways have deteriorated considerably.
In particular, there are many places in the hallways where gaps have been covered with tape,
and there is only one elevator, which is very inconvenient.
The room feels a little larger than a business hotel, and although there is a unit bath
it is very dirty, and both the indoor and outdoor baths are small.
Most of the guests are elderly, and many of the staff are elderly as well.
It is not barrier-free, so people with disabilities should refrain from using it.
