Highly Recommended Ryokan in Kamakura
The Ryokan is well placed close to the local railway line - 2 mins walk away , the beach 5 mins and the town centre 10 mins away on foot . The temples and sights can be reached easily on foot or by using the local railway service . The staff were very friendly and gave excellent service . The evening meal and breakfast were a delicious array of Japanese food / many of the dishes with fish and beautifully prepared and presented vegetables and pickles .
It was a very relaxing place to stay at the end of a busy 4 weeks in Japan . There are 2 Onsens one for males and one for females which are also lovely - and quiet. The decor is traditional rather than modern .

It's priceless as a ryokan in Kamakura...
Now, let's talk about the facility…
Only the lounge and Western-style rooms are available to guests in the Important Cultural Property building. The others are just ordinary "ryokan" in the extension. Therefore, if you want to stay at a retro important cultural property, you can only reserve one "Western-style room".
Our family stayed in a Western-style room and a General Japanese-style room, so we've experienced both, but again, the cucumbers here are the former, the latter quite normal.
Dinner is basically room meals. The taste was normal, neither bad nor bad. Breakfast is served in the hall, which is also quite normal.
It goes without saying that Kamakura is a tourist destination from ancient times, but somehow there are no long-established inns. Maybe it's because it's not a hot spring resort? If you stay overnight, might it be Yugawara or Hakone?
Among them, the ryokan-style Kaihinso Kamakura is priceless, but I think people who live in places where it is possible to go on a day trip might go out of their way to stay....
It is very close to Enoden "Yuigahama Station", but it is not an ocean view.

For dinner we went to Katsunuma-Tei Kamakura just up the street. It is a small French style Japanese curry restaurant, and the couple who own it and cook and serve are so friendly and accommodating. The menu is small, and the food is exquisite.
