Gastronomic Inn of Old House Regeneration
I won a web magazine survey for accommodation, so I drove to Kamakura for the first time in a while and arrived around the time I was wondering if the quiet residential street would be a dead end. A fully renovated old Edo-period house is available for only two groups per day, and all rooms are suites.
After checking in with a welcome drink, while admiring the garden, which also has a well-equipped pond, you will be guided through a corridor of old quaint glass and shoji and floor to Kura Maisonette Suite 102. Behind the spacious Japanese-style room with a view of the garden is a thick wall of storage, and further back is the living room with a large sofa and TV. Nostalgic for AI speakers and DVD players, there is even an espresso machine. The room has an atrium that allows you to see many old beams, and when you go upstairs to the second floor, you will find a bedroom with two large beds in the airweave and a maisonette type room. Although it was originally an old house, the sink and toilet on the ground floor were brand new, and the bath was made of wood and stone, and although it was not a hot spring, it was a microbubble bath. The caveat is that if you want to go to the bathroom after going to bed at night, you will go down a few steep stairs from the second floor in the dark, so you should be a little careful if you are elderly or asleep.
Dinner is served at the open kitchen counter with Italian course meals. The unique, elaborate items that make the most of the ingredients are cooked right in front of your eyes and served fresh, making them not only delicious, but also a lively and enjoyable experience to watch. We paid for our own dinner, but I'm really glad we asked at this inn. Breakfast is served in the Japanese-style room of the room. You can enjoy items of Kamakura and Miura Peninsula ingredients along with clay pot rice with valuable lacquerware from old times that was said to have been found in this inn's storehouse.
If you ask the concierge, they will take you to Kamakura sightseeing spots by car, so we took you to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, and after sightseeing we walked back to the inn, stopping at Kamakuragu and so on, and it was a good walk before dinner. Also, there is a small mountain on the inn's property, and a small shrine is enshrined after a short climb, and you can see the inn and the residential area from a little above.
This time, I was lucky enough to stay for free, and although it is not a room that I can easily revisit, I think it is a one-of-a-kind luxury experience, including the formation of the inn and the obsession with food.

A wonderful place with wonderful people
No wish remains unfulfilled - neither culinary nor as far as accommodation is concerned. An absolute gem. The opportunity to be taken by car to attractions, or picked up from the city, is great - even if we didn't use it constantly.

This bolthole has only two gorgeous spacious immaculate suites. Each around 900 square feet with a cosy ambiance. I loved my blissful multiple soaks in the bathtub

First class service, two staff ran out to help me park my car, got my luggage, one disappeared with it and the other brought me into a dining room overlooking the exquisite garden, along with a chocolate cake and champagne.
The suite maybe 1855 with beams and frames looking quite antique, but the stay was super comfortable. Need anything and you can whatsapp the gracious staff who will fuss over you until end of your stay
Food & drinks.
Excellent meals. Italian fine dinner. Then an indulgent but virtuous breakfast of greens, miso soup, grilled fish etc

Moderate $730 including delicious dinner & breakfast

An excellent restaurant in Kamakura
The garden in Kita Kamakura is beautiful on a Sunday afternoon.
When we arrived by car, we were greeted properly and were able to park our car smoothly in the parking lot.
This time we reserved a private room and had a deluxe lunch for three people.
We were able to order a tasting of the non-alcoholic drinks on the spot.
The elegant menu was served at just the right time, allowing us to have a lively conversation.
The chef's enthusiasm is evident in the selection of ingredients, the seasoning of the food, and the timing of serving it.
It's well thought out. Nearly perfect.
We were able to enjoy a high-class lunch in a fine space and atmosphere.

Superb experience with more than 100-years-old traditional Japanese house !
家族で鎌倉古今へ滞在して来ました。2部屋のスイートルームしかなく、両親・兄家族と貸し切りにし、小さい子供も宿泊できました。鎌倉中心部からは離れていますが観光地の喧騒は一切感じられず、古民家をリノベした情緒ある旅館内での滞在を充分に楽しめました。お部屋は中からは想像できないモダンなつくりとなっていますが、柱やガラスなど、主要部分は古民家のものをそのまま再利用しており、モダンながらも古さや伝統を感じられる雰囲気になっています。支配人の松宮夫妻とスタッフの方も、幼い子供に親切にして下さり、とても快適に過ごすことが出来ました。お料理は併設のイタリアンレストランで、地元鎌倉の野菜をふんだんに使った料理が大変おいしく、子供にもプレートを用意してくださり、家族大満足でした。

The appearance of the hotel was perfect to me and the hotel has a beatuful Japanese-style garden inside. They have only 2 suite class rooms with fully renovated but they preserve main parts of building as it was in Edo era. One of the rooms was attached to `Kura`, Japanese traditinal warehouse.
The Italian restaurant with the hotel was also excellent and the chef is really deep-knowledged and particular about local (Kamakura) vegetables. The vegetables were really sweet by itself. If you are visitor from other countries and visiting Kamakura, the hotel is one of the `must-stay` place.
