Faded glories

This onsen must have some great histories as it is big in a small city like Kikuchi. As with most Japanese establishments, it is clean and tidy even though you can see lack of regular maintenance in quite a few areas. The staff was friendly and helpful even though facilities were limited.

Good food and service, but old building

Special food is very inspring and comfortable bed.
Onsen is quite good but unfortunately WiFi is only available at robby.
Also, both hot water and cold water are served with high quality green tea.
As a whole, I'm quite satisfied with this hotel.

Good Onsen with Outdated Facilities

My wife and I stayed here for one night after our trips to Tokyo and Kyoto. I t is a big hotel with a glorious past. The onsen water quality is great, clear but rich. However, the hotel facilities is outdated and old. We stayed at Main building, so we don't know if their new east building is better or not. The food was supposed to be good, but there was a big Korean tourist group came in at same time; so the service was not as good as we experienced in Kyoto or Tokyo even it was a Kaiseki Dinner. If you stayed here, make sure to stop at Kikuchi gourge; which was so beautiful and tranquil; it was the highlight of our Japanese trip.

Top quality food, accomodation and service. Japanese only. Borring

Stayed 3 nights. Staff trying very hard to accomodate a non japanese. Dinner absolute top. Very helpful staff in finding other hot bath (Onsen) in town and taxi for sightseeing.
Own Onsen is outdoor between industrial builings - OK but not special.
Very limited english. Credit card OK. Not nightlife on hotel but around the corner.
Recommendable if you are looking for a nice, clean and ordely place.

源泉かけ流し

施設はやや古めかしいですが綺麗に手入れされており快適に宿泊できました。宿自慢の温泉は、46.7℃の源泉を「沸かさず・薄めず・循環させず」掛け流しているという温泉好きにはたまらない仕様です。PH9.1のアルカリ性の温泉は臭いもなく透明ですが、肌になじんでホカホカにしてくれます。チェックイン後、就寝前、朝風呂と温泉を堪能し、心身ともにリラックスできました。
