The Perfect Place to Stay on Yakushima!

My husband and I stayed at Cottage Morinokokage on Yakushima for several days last month, and highly recommend it! We would be out all day hiking and exploring and were also happy to come back to our spacious cabin, #1. The cabin is spacious, the beds were super comfortable and with the kitchenette and coffee supplies we could make our own breakfast in the morning. The shower is top notch! The owner was friendly and helpful. There is no charge for the laundry facilities. Cottage Morinokokage was the perfect place to stay for our visit to Yakushima!

The owner, Ryosaku Nakashima, is so nice and welcoming. And his English is very good. It was raining when we arrived so he let us have our room even though it was before checking time. The room was spacious and clean.
We appreciated the “shoe dryer”, or whatever it is called; very well thought on this humid island.
The laundry is very convenient.
All the houses look very nice. The owner did a very good job.
We highly recommend this place.

Excellent view. Charming and spacious rooms. Owner and staff were kind and generous. Helped us navigate the bus system and dining in Yakushima.

Wonderful cottage

Wonderful 3 night stay in charming mini village of cottages with its own church and general store. Our cottage was really spacious and well equipped. Owner couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful, taking time to show us how everything worked. Great fish restaurant 15 minutes walk away. Highly recommended.
