We'll continue to use it.
My first business trip this year was to Hokkaido, and I chose this hotel in Monbetsu for my work. Its location across the street from Monbetsu Bus Terminal makes it very convenient when traveling by public transportation. Intercity buses also operate to and from Sapporo, Asahikawa, and Monbetsu City and its suburbs. Hotel parking is located next to the west of the hotel building.
This time, we were assigned a superior single room on the 9th floor. This room faces the mountain side and you can see Monbetsu City and the Oyama City Ski Resort. I felt that the interior was kept clean, although I felt it had deteriorated a bit over time. I can control the ceiling lights and reading lights at bedside, but there are no outlets, so I can't charge my smartphone by bedside, so I hope I can improve it. There is no washroom, toilet and bathroom in one room. In addition to the pillows provided in your room, you can choose from multiple types of pillows in front of the elevator hall on each floor, and you can sleep with your own pillowcase of choice (pillowcases are also provided). Vending machines, ice machines and microwave ovens are located next to the front desk on the 1st floor.
The hotel has hosted several previous shogi matches, most recently the 5th game of the 82nd shogi masters match, and was also the site of Fujii's victory, and there are accommodation plans where you can eat some of the games from that time.
It was a breakfast venue, but we had it at the "Marina" on the first floor. As it is a monbetsu, there are many Japanese and Western classics, as well as scallop sashimi. Since last year, individuals have been able to make butter-grilled seasonal vegetables, scallops, corn, eggs, etc. on a small iron plate.
In the past, when staying in Monbetsu, I mainly used a different hotel, but I felt like I was competing with three hotels in the city. We have renovated our facilities, built a new annex, and are focusing on breakfast, so I wonder if it is OK to choose a hotel every time I come.
Monbetsu Airport also has direct flights from Haneda Airport, and the airport shuttle bus departs from and arrives at Monbetsu Bus Terminal via other hotels in the city. It will be the time when you can see drift ice, so it is a recommended area for your trip.
We will continue to make regular business trips to and around Monbetsu City, so we will use it again.

That's my second stay at this hotel. Even though I could book only a smoking room, the smell was so weak that it was almost impossible to notice it. As usual, everything was great, the staff is ready to help you, room furniture is not new, but is nice and in the excellent condition.

A Lovely Mombetsu Hotel
Okhotsk Palace is a wonderful place to stay while in Mombetsu! Our family of four shared two rooms. Here are some things we loved:
- The beds were incredibly comfortable. After many long 20,000-step days in Tokyo, it was nice to enjoy such a comfortable bed to sleep in.
-Breakfast was awesome! My adventurous 13-year-old tried everything. My pickier 10-year-old found many items she really enjoyed. My husband and I found the coffee extra-special.
-The staff here is incredible! The front desk clerks helped us with directions any time we asked and reliably had strong recommendations!
- This place has vintage vibes and is very clean and well-cared for!
I hope to return to enjoy this lovely place!

I recently stayed at this hotel and it was a delightful experience. The room was exceptionally clean, well-furnished, and equipped with all the modern amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable, providing a great night's sleep. The hotel staff were friendly and attentive, making sure every need was met. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who seeking a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
