Great Onsen

This hotel is not near the main Onsen town. Need to drive about 20 min to reach the place. We could park our car in front of the property.
The service was good. Check in within minute. The room is spacious and clean. Only toilet in the room. No WiFi but good to cut from the Internet for a while.
Breakfast is traditional Japanese breakfast. We enjoy it. Property only accept cash.

Delightful ryokan, welcoming hosts and peaceful setting

We arrived in the rain, to be warmly greeted and our bags ushered inside. As we were staying in a traditional ryokan, we were respectfully asked to remove our shoes and wear the slippers. Our shoes were taken and carefully stored in a shoe room and were were checked in and given a quick guided tour of the ryokan. What a beautiful location, what wonderful hosts - who spoken good English - what delightful food.

Rustic, quiet and exquisite, a treat in Noboribetsu!

Noboribetsu is famous for its hot springs, demo statues and other natural wonders, in a part of Japan already well known for its abundance of natural beauty. Sanseikan is a little less than 10 km from the town centre, far away from the hustling and bustling mega hot spring resorts.
Fashioned after the traditional ryokan (Japanese inn), Sanseikan is a unique mixture of the old and new. The rooms are traditionally equipped with low tables, tatami mats and futons. They are spacious, clean and comfortable. The onsen is divided along the gender line, and each side has three pools - one outdoor and two indoor. The bathing facilities are modern, clean and well-equipped.
We were served a traditional breakfast and it was fantastic! If you do not want to drive into town for dinner, you may want to alert the inn ahead of time and they will prepare dinner for you.
Sanseikan is perfect for a quiet getaway to really enjoy the natural hot springs, nature, and the company of your travel companion. Highly recommended!

Cosy onsen with a feel of privacy

This hotel is 7km from town centre which is good because the setting is quite rustic and green, not so good if you have to drive into town to get your dinner. Breakfast is provided in the form of a set meal - Japanese, not much choice but enough for breakfast. Room is clean and minimalist, staff friendly and helpful but what topped it all is the cosy indoor/outdoor hotspring bath. I had the run of the facility which made me feel quite at home. Although the room was a bit overpriced it was I thought well worth the experience.

Hotel with a cosy, private hot spring

The hotel is a little off the beaten track - 7 km from town centre but the access quick & easy if you drive. Make sure to have your dinner arranged beforehand if you don't fancy driving to town in the dark. The location is surrounded by trees and a handful of buildings...hotels presumably. Quiet and peaceful surrounds. Inside of the hotel is nothing to brag about. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast consisted of a reasonably good set Japanese meal. What made my stay memorable was the cosy onsen which felt like a private hot spring but that's probably because I stayed on a weekday with hardly any other guests around. Although I felt the hotel room was a little over-priced, I would neverthelessrecommend it for the onsen experience, if nothing else.
