The onsen is great, really good water. The place is old and if you allergic to cats, do NOT go there!!!

The onsen is great, really good water. The place is old and if you allergic to cats, do NOT go there!!!
Almost 40 stairs to go down to the onsen from the lobby.
The place is very old, like 60 years ago or something like that and it looks like it.
However it is clean.
No amenities at all at the locker-room, which actually have no lockers at all.
If they would not have cats, I would have considered to stay a night here.
The outside pool was not operational, so just the indoor onsen.

混浴に期待したら

平岩駅バス停着が13:25で大糸線の発車時刻が14時でこの時間を利用しての入浴です。平岩付近では混浴はここの1軒だけです。大糸線のガードをくぐって姫川の右岸を歩きます。玄関を開けると履物が少ない。日帰り入浴600円を払います。領収書等は受け取ってません。貴重品は帳場に預けろの掲示があります。入浴時間は1時間だといいます。岩風呂のある方向へ階段を降ります。脱衣室の戸を開けると鍵付きロツカ－などなく、ただの棚ばかりで籠がある箇所もあります。扉をあけると左手に蛇口・シヤワーがあります。ケロリン桶があります。誰もいません。浴槽に一条の湯滝が落ちています。

温泉はよい

温泉は岩風呂と露天風呂があり、岩風呂はダイナミックな佇まい、露天風呂は川やたまに通る大糸線を眺めながらつかれるというロケーションがよい。
食事や接客を考えると、宿泊せずに日帰り温泉として使うのがよいかもしれない。

混浴日帰り温泉

混浴風呂です！入り口が男女別ですが内風呂内は一緒です。上から滝のように熱い源泉が落ちてきて源泉はとても熱いです。湯自体も全体的に熱いので、のぼせには気をつけた方がいいです。季節的に晩秋や初冬の雪が降る前はいいと思います！夏やスキーシーズンは全体的に国道148号は混みますし、新潟県側から姫川を渡る木の橋は狭く対向車は避ける事ができません。

混浴内風呂温泉！日帰り温泉

混浴風呂好きには少し残念なのは、混浴が内風呂だけなのが残念！
露天風呂は、服を着て屋上に上がって、男女別々になっている・・・・
でも露天風呂からの景色は良い。川もあって、線路が見えて、たまたま電車が通った。立ってると電車に乗っている人から丸見え状態ですがね！！
開放感抜群です。。
