Lovely Osaka

Love it, quaint, historical, cultural, heritage. I love how the pace here and the essense of an old quaint Japanese area within a big city in Osaka can live next to each other. Really encourage this area.

You pay for what you get

The staff was not fluent in English at all but did her best to communicate! The elevator is decorated with a kind of carpet on its walls... not very clean nor hygienic. But that was not the worst part of the hotel: the rooms (non-smoking) smelled of a mixture between humidity, cigarettes and moist. The room was larger than the ones you'd get in Japan but it is not sufficient enough to make you forget about the state of the room : old, and smelly.
Another negative point would be that you have to pay for the towels, the shampoo, and the toilet paper...
The only positive point was that the room was clean.

Average and Dated Accommodation

The place seems dated and provides a simple place to crash in for the night which was the purpose of the place anyways. Cleanliness wise we found a lot of dust on the table and moving a remote would cause the dust to fly around the room. The kitchen seems dated and only a few cups and spoons were provided. Toilet seems clean though.
They provide a flat screen tv and also enough socket points to charge all the devices. Hairdryer can be acquired for free from the reception.
They do provide a microwave if you need one in the room. Coin laundry and dryer is also available in the establishment.
Pillows seems flat and doesn't provide enough head support.
Only provided Twin beds although we were a couple and due to the lack of space it was difficult to push both beds together to form one single bed.
Space as usual was limited for any Japanese accommodation so you would need to perform some shifting here and there to be able to open up your suitcases.
The place wasn't really easy to find as it looks like a regular housing apartment.
When we arrived no one was there to check us in although we did call the number provided at the check-in counter it took us about 20 minutes to be finally checked in.
Borrowing a wifi router required a deposit of 3000 yen. I am not sure there were any charges for the wifi as we already had our own wifi router.
Although the delay in check-in the staff was friendly and helpful.
Breakfast is not provided and there is no restaurant here. There are vending machines for drinks right in front of the reception/check in counter.
There is a family mart and 7-11 close by. Walking to the train station is a 10 minutes walk though. During the Chilly autumn months wouldn't be a problem but not during the hot summer season.
Overall this place is good if you are not a fussy person and its just a regular bedroom you use to sleep for the night. There is no need for sharing of bathroom and living spaces thus it provides good privacy.
The Rooms overall building just needs a little bit of makeover and it would surely make this place better.

Great value for your money!

Cheap, clean, and helpful staff. You have supermarkets and a metro station close-by while the Osaka station is around 20-30 min away by foot.
Recommend if looking for a decent place while on a budget. Would definitely come again
