Not the best Super Hotel we stayed in
Having previously stayed at Super Hotel in Shinjuku, Tokyo, we decided to use this chain for our trips to Osaka and Yokohama.
We arrived at the hotel and we were quickly checked in. It seems that most of the staff did not speak English, which we did expect, but unlike Shinjuku and Yokohama, nothing about the hotels facilities were advised in English on a card, so we had to figure everything out for ourselves.
The room itself was small, but comfortable. Breakfast was quite poor for the options provided. We went down at 8.30am on the Sunday to find 3 bread rolls and last parts of hot Japanese noodles etc. On the Monday, we went down around the same time to find that breakfast was just finishing up. We found out later that breakfast stops at 8.30am - something that was not made aware to us and different timings to that of the other two hotels. We gave up on hoping to have a decent breakfast for the rest of our stay and just picked up some pastries from the nearby 7/Eleven.
On the 4th day, we came back to the hotel at around 2pm as we wanted to drop some shopping off. There was a note on the sliding door in English that it was not possible to enter the rooms due to cleaning. Through Google translate, we checked with reception who indeed confirmed it was not possible to enter the room, even after checking our room number. So if you want to go back to your room at any time, it seems it's not possible between 10am and 3pm.
We were woken every morning by nearby building works. While it's not the fault of the hotel, most hotels I have stayed in have advised of any expected disturbances.
The location is good, but I am not sure if I would choose to stay here again based on the breakfast choices, lack of communication and no access to your own room within your own time.

A great budget hotel
The best comparison I can think of to this place for Brits would be somewhere like Premier Inn, but much much nicer. The concept is that as much as possible of the experience is automated and made electronic; rather than a room key, you're given a six digit code on a slip of paper that opens your hotel room door and also the external door when entering after hours.
We had a double hotel room for four nights. The room itself was not very large, but more than large enough for what we wanted it for, as a base for looking around Osaka, with a comfortable bed and plenty of amenities; air conditioning, TV, standard Japanese hotel bathroom. The hotel also offers a free breakfast which is of decent quality, and has washing and drying facilities as well as access to a computer with internet access if you need to use it (I don't recommend this unless, as I did, you need to check in for flights online and the site doesn't work on your phone - the room the computer is in is tiny and the computer horrifyingly clunky and slow.) When we did need to speak to hotel staff they were uniformly pleasant and helpful.
One great thing to mention is that this hotel is excellently located; it is just around the corner from a well-connected subway station, a 7-Eleven convenience store (with a very helpful ATM that accepted my British first direct debit card without a fee) and numerous pleasant restaurants. It also has a car park available for an extra fee.
Overall the hotel and the room was clean, pleasant, modern and generally of a good standard. I wouldn't hesitate to book here again if I was to come back to Osaka.

stay out of smoking floors!
Booked 1 night and since the hotel is almost full they gave us room in smoking floor, hate the smell of the room. The airconditioner doesnt work properly. The breakfast is not that good. You just get what you paid for.
