Michelin Guide Hokkaido 2017 Listing, I stayed for two nights in a small hotel on Rebun Island, the northernmost island in Japan.
You can enjoy the Cape Tour course on foot based at the hotel (about 6 hours)
■ I stayed in a twin room in a separate building on the park and sea side, but the room is large and clean and beautiful.
The bathroom was a unit bath.
■Hot spring・Rebun Usuyuki no Yu
The bath building is a separate building, and it is not an open-air bath but a small indoor bath.
There is a small wooden deck where you can go outside.
※There are 6 washing places.
■ The dinner course meal was delicious!
● Seafood salad
The salad was excellent with fresh button sea, scallops and salmon roe.
● Assorted sashimi
Sea urchin and mackerel were fresh and delicious.
● Roast beef of Soya beef
● Lily root chawanmushi
● Potato butter
● Cod soup
● Dessert (cheesecake)
●Coffee or tea
■You can see the sunset at "Sunset Hill" just after leaving the hotel.

Return to Rebun - Spectacular Hiking and Seafood.
This was our fourth visit to this wonderful little hotel at the northern tip of Rebun Island. Our first was some 30 years ago when they just opened and had one building. Now they have three buildings for rooms and a bath house. On this small island one should not expect five star luxury rooms. But our room was large with two comfortable beds and a large bathroom as well. A highlight of any stay here is the food - the local seafood. Starting with generous portion of fresh uni. On any given night you might have crab, abalone or other local fish. The couple that opened the hotel take good care of their guests. It is also a great location for hiking the northern tip of the island - with the amazing costal views and wild flowers. The inn will pick you up at the ferry, so you don't need an expensive rental care, and if you are hiking you can use the local bus loop (although not that frequent) My wife (Japanese) and I are big fans of Rebun and this hotel.

It may not be what you're looking for on Rebun Island.
I'm sure it was the owner's idea, but it was amazing how they recreated the inconveniences of European hotels (lol).
It's amazing how they have so many furnishings and tableware. The lounge makes you feel like you're visiting a friend's house in Europe.
As other comments have said, the place is very clean and the food is delicious. The sashimi was fresher and more delicious than any other restaurant I've had during my trip.
If I had to say one thing, I think it's good that the Japanese staff are working efficiently during meals, but I wonder how they walk around the small dining room with their big strides and thumping feet. The vibrations of the Japanese staff's footsteps echoed throughout the meal, which was unpleasant. Also, even though it was a special meal, the timing of the service was too early, the timing of the plates being cleared was also too early, and although the food was at the level of a first-class restaurant, the waiter was at the level of a family restaurant, which was disappointing.

Seafood paradise...
This was our third visit to this wonderful hotel at the Northern tip of Rebun Island. Our first over 20 years, when the owners first opened. It was great to return and find the property remains in excellent shape. We stayed in the Annex Building, which faces the ocean. The room was spacious with two twin beds and two sofas. Bath is small but then you have a bigger onsen bath in the next building, which is very much welcome after long days hiking. So much to see on Rebun, from the wildflowers to the small fishing villages, especially the uni and kombu fishermen. Highlight of the day is amazing seafood dinners at the Hotel - Uni, Awabi, Scallops, and other local fish. Hard to get more fresher with the ocean just out the rear door. Highly recommend if you plan to visit Rebun and prefer to stay on the less crowded (and more beautiful) part of the island.

Rebun best kept secret
I have entered one of the most remotely located hotel in the Japanese islands.
Warm welcome in Japanese. The host makes his best to understand English-speaking guests. Anyway there is no language barrier for such open-hearted people. The room furniture inspired from classic Mediterranean hotels won’t disappoint western customers but the Onsen reminds you that you are in Japan. From the hotel there are different trails that will take you to a hike along the shore and up the hills of Rebun.
