A delightful hostel in a residential area of Otaru
As I felt tad too old for a dormitory experience (I had enough of that at school) I opted to stay in a single room. Even in the coldest of seasons the room was warm and cozy, and the bed was comfortable and clean. If you are safety-minded you could ask for a room key, though I found this totally unnecessary as there was always someone looking after the house.
There is a large kitchen you can use to prepare food, and unless you are looking to indulge in heavy cooking the facility is more than adequate, and in the living room there was a low table and a kotatsu, a Japanese table with the under-the-table heater and a blanket. You can’t experience this in a hotel normally but it is a traditional winter fixture in Japanese homes.
An added bonus of staying here was the chance to speak to the students about their life in Otaru. It was a welcome change to the bland experience I had gotten used to staying in a hotel, and a priceless experience spending time with the young local entrepreneurs.

Feels like home.
The room is a little cold but i didn't really mind it coz i got extra blanket. Everything is very clean.
Overall, this place though needs some improvements, has a good potential and i had a very nice stay here.
Will come back again.

日幣約2650，但有點半山腰，一路上坡，有行李箱或是重行李的人會走得很累。日式榻榻米，兩間的是很薄的門，隔音等於沒有。廚房設備非常完整👍，適合想烹飪當地食材的人，我只有一個晚上來不及所以沒有煮，只是加熱超市食物。規定大家十一點熄燈，好處可以很早睡比較健康，壞處是來不及洗澡，因為洗澡間只有一間啊啊啊啊啊。廁所男一間女一間。一大早五點多被陽光射醒，因為日式那間沒窗簾，醒來聽到隔壁男生打呼，再也睡不著🥲。
女工作人員挺友善。關於寄放行李，check in前可以，check out後就不行。（給其他人參考，有些check out後可以放到下午四點前）
