Surprisingly nice onsen. Didn’t expect much as we chose this hotel which is near to the next day early whale watching tour. But the dinner and breakfast were very good. Room is big and clean. Pillow is bead-type and may not suit international travellers.

Average.

Visited in March 2026 when the Shiretoko Pass is closed. The hotel is located just before the start of the pass. Booked this because we booked late and there were limited options within the town. Traditional Japanese room. We also booked the dinner and I would recommend doing that (at least in this time of the year) because there didn’t seem to be many dinner options. I supposed summer would be different.

Have you eaten less than before?

Stay on the first day of the holiday. It's my third time staying here. Rausu lodgings are limited. Two meals included, you can stay alone in the hot spring. The building is old, but well, it doesn't bother me. I feel like I'm having less dinner than before. Well, it's enough.

Acceptable

It's quite outdated with signs of wear and tear. The tatami room size is modest but clean. It's located 3 minutes of drive from Rausu port and therefore quite convenient. Both dinner and breakfast are Japanese style set meal and have a good variety of hot and cold dishes. Onsen was adequate. There isn't much choice of accommodation in the area. Next to this is Rausu Daiichi Hotel that we stayed 5 years ago, which I reckoned as slightly better than this one.
