Relaxing stay

A rather quaint hotel compared with the others nearby, nonetheless they deliver very heartfelt and sincere service. I'm not sure they would have English speaking staff but they had a Chinese speaking staff when I stayed.
Room has excellent view and you can have onsen bath in your room too.
Food is delicious and the dining area looks out towards the sea for evening and morning views.
Best part is that this is the only hotel that is directly connected to the Sanshiro Islands or the Tombolo walk, which thereafter you can walk back to clean up.

I'm doing my best.

It used to be a fairly decent hotel. It is aging now. It was a Japanese-style room, but the room had no yukata, amenities, tea, or sweets, so I took what I needed like a business hotel. I also lay my own futon. Dinner is buffet except for specified food and breakfast is buffet.
The hot springs are as fresh as they used to be. The location is good. It is a hotel that keeps labor costs down as much as possible and lowers prices because of it.

I won't be staying here anymore

The hotel as a whole is quite dilapidated.
The building has a peculiar smell of mold and dust mixed with bonito broth, and there is dust in the corners of the rooms. The rice is also pretty bad. There is an all-you-can-eat version of seasoned rice, but it's soggy it's like mochi, and the sashimi is dry. There is a lot of fried food, such as fried chicken and skewers. You get the feeling, "You really came all the way here to eat this?"
There are signs everywhere in the building saying things are out of order.
The souvenir shop is closed, so there is no tea or sweets in the rooms.
You can see that they are trying hard, but they haven't kept up with the times.

Not so suitable during the winter but

It has the Roten Onsen near to the sea line . It is really good for the winter mornings but there is nothing much in Dogajima itself. You can camp there during Spring and Summer. It isn’t too bad for small kids since no big wave at the beach at all. I strongly recommend to drive around there. As you can see the bus time table, one bus per hour from Dogajima to Shimoda.

Its location is simply amazing

The hotel is at an amazing location about 10 mins walk from the bus station(No trains to Dogashima). The rooms are all looking towards the sea, their outdoor onsen is very nice with an amazing view. Although I stayed here only for a night, would recommend a longer stay. They have people who can speak English and can help you.
The whole experience was amazing. The balcony is highlight with the outdoor onsen.
