This is an old school honestly, but with nicely separated living spaces (shred bathrooms). Not squeaky clean, and a bit outdated…but human and not without charm. The owner is a super courteous dude. You may need a car as it is a few kilometers 40 minute walk from the train station. The payoff is the silence and chill vibes out here. I enjoyed my stay.

This is a good place to stay if you want a peaceful, cheap room for the night but are not worried about elegance. The building is older, which is a cute aesthetic, but the main spaces are poorly lit and not cleaned thoroughly, stuff is stored everywhere as if the house were abandoned, and the restaurant service is not available. However, it was very quiet and peaceful. Everything smells faintly of cigarette smoke, probably from the other guests. While we were there, two toilets were out of order, but that will probably be fixed very soon. The older staff member is very friendly, but it is definitely a utilitarian option for housing.

The place is basic, but clean, comfortable and easy to find. There was free tea and coffee in the lobby area and free amenities like shampoo and face cleanser. The owner speaks some English and was very friendly. I had a great sleep and I would stay there again. Extra safety precautions were taken, for covid, such as temperature checks and hand sanitizer in the rooms.

Good value and good location

Great location. Great value. Traditional Japanese vibe. Near the main area of Tsuwano and the shrine. The bathroom is separated from the room and the shower room is also separated. Nice traditional Japanese inn for a good price.

OK but air con bit noisy outside our room.

We booked late and arrived after dark. Its a long walk from the station, but fortunately there was a taxi waiting at the station. Nice place with a friendly owner but as we had booked very last last minute no food and no breakfast available next day. The external compresor for the ac was so noisy we just turned the ac off.
In the morning the owner offered us a lift back to town which was a nice of him.
Tswano is perhaps more of a stop over than an overnight destination as very little stays open late or opens early.
