Yasugi-en
Yasugi is home to Yasugi-en. Gassantoda Castle and Kiyomizu-dera Temple are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Tamatsukuri Hot Spring and Tamatsukuri Onsen. Adachi Museum of Art and Jokoji Temple are also worth visiting.

Vintage Wonderfulness
What a wonderful little ryokan this is! It is like a step back into the Showa era in many respects, as many of the appointments appear to date back to that time. I don’t know how it is that they have been able to maintain everything in such good condition. And they do an excellent job of cleaning. The place is simple and unpretentious, but they just do everything so well. For example, in our room were some cut fresh flowers in a simple glass vase—not the fancy ikebana arrangement you might find in a much more expensive ryokan, but so thoughtful and sweet. The baths were very nice, especially the rotenburo, and the food was amazing, both dinner and breakfast. Each meal provided a fairly conventional set of dishes that you would expect at an old-fashioned ryokan, but there were an impressive number of items and some very thoughtful touches, and everything tasted just right. We were very full by the end of dinner, so when they offered to bring us our dessert of cut seasonal fruit on a tray to take to our rooms to enjoy later, we gratefully accepted. I really cannot say enough good things about this place. I went there because of its proximity to the Adachi Museum, which I had been to several times on day trips. But the next time I am in this part of Japan, if I go to the Adachi Museum it will be because of its proximity to Yasugien… Honestly, I would be happy to go back any time. If you are looking for an impeccable high-end ryokan that serves elaborate kaiseki ryori and has maids bustling around in expensive kimonos, this is not it. But Yasugien has heart and soul, and is a real treasure.

It's a good inn, but it's wasteful of a lot.
It's not a bad inn overall.
However, the positives and negatives are extreme.
The innkeeper is very responsive.
Foreigners are comfortable with how Japan is handled, and they are always concerned about whether there are refills during meals.
Landlady. is also friendly and satisfying.
The next day I went to the Adachi Museum of Art, and the service is also great, such as renting the parking lot for free even after checking out.
The bath is good (there are some bad spots)
The hot springs are not so hot that you can soak them for a long time just right at this time in February.
On this day, the snow piled up and the view of the open-air bath in the morning was nice and relaxing.
However, the facilities are so old that the showers are not suitable.
In the middle of winter this is hard.
As the facilities are old overall, it looks cold everywhere.
The cafeteria was also cold.
The food was delicious, but there were many cold plates, perhaps partly prepared, and I had Yanagawa hot pot dishes, but it took a while for my body to warm up. But the amount is quite substantial and worth eating.
I can't help but think that fixing the hot water facility alone will improve the reputation....
There is also a warmth unique to regional ryokan, and I feel wasteful because it gives a good impression.

Nice staff, poor facilities
Staff is very nice, Onsen was one of the worst ones I saw in Japan. It looked old, not well maintained and a bit dirty - I felt for a minute I had jumped to Thailand or something, this is not to a Japanese standard. But the lady at the reception was extremely nice.

酒店有些老旧，但是老板娘非常体贴，因为来晚了，没有晚饭吃，开车送我们去买食物，泡池很好，就是水温太高了。

四年前住过隔壁酒店 ，十分惊艳，不过忘了名字，误以为是这家，实际上天壤之别。这家1969年开业设置非常老旧，房间其冷无比，半夜去洗手间卷着毯子去还栋得发抖，枕头是糠皮的很硬，褥子比较薄铺在地上很硬，腰椎很痛一晚上没咋睡。私汤淋浴没热水，大浴池很小淋浴放了很久才出来热水。下午三点半才能入住，早上早餐八点截止。早晚餐都是日式的比较一般，下午和晚上整个酒店工作人员只有一个老板娘，早餐是一个老奶奶，没见到其他任何工作人员。附图是我之前住的隔壁家酒店，大家千万别像我这次来搞错了
