Just what my soul needed!
When I first arrived, I was a bit underwhelmed. I had just lost a cat also so I was a bit doomed. There are so many doors in the tatami room and it looks dark everywhere plus there are many things to remember and also the translator machine doesn’t make full sense. However, after the first soak and then the first dinner, everything make sense! Japanese are good at hitting the key note right! I reallize that everything has been thought through! The rooftop bath where it is first come first serve is perfect for starting your unwinding. The 7 courses dinner was mesmerizing and the lady who take care of me is delightful. After 2 nights stay, I even feel like we made connection beyond the translator devices. I have use all the baths and they are all amazing. Breakfast is also a real feast. In terms of location for me is perfect. The view from balcony kept me looking out and just watch the fog goes by. The Manyo park is in walking distance ( recommended to go, very refreshing also has a cafe there) the museum is alright but can be missed. Fudo fall is a joke from google map, better to go by bus!
Yugawara is a sleepy little town so best for relaxing not for many activities. And Fukiya ryokan is a perfect place for such. A true healing for body and mind. I cherished my memory of being there and I am very grateful.

What a gem!

She lives in the UK and stayed with my mother and I for a birthday celebration on our temporary return. It was a very nice inn and I was impressed. Due to my job, I stayed in a five-star hotel overseas, but it was on a different level. The layout and facilities make you feel attentive to every corner, and the hospitality that makes you feel the spirit of the landlady and the woman who sat in the room every inch of the way. Although the building is venerable on the outside, the interior also features automatic curtain opening and closing, and chairs are placed in the room, making it comfortable for the elderly. The highlight was the birthday celebration with dinner and a surprise. My mother Fukiya's stay was very satisfying and very enjoyable, and it was a good memory.

Fukiya's impressions

I was able to spend a special time to forget my daily life in a calm atmosphere and to attend to the attentive hospitality of the hot springs in a wonderful location, including the rooftop open-air bath, where I commented on fine food. I'm a little concerned - it's hard to know how to use the bidet - it's hard to eat the container with salmon roe - I'm very happy with the other things I wanted you to do after checking out.

Wonderful Experience!

Fukiya Yugawara Ryokan is a truly exceptional traditional Japanese inn that offers an outstanding level of customer service. I was served exquisite washoku (Japanese cuisine) for both dinner and breakfast — world-class in both presentation and taste. If you’re looking to experience authentic Japanese omotenashi (hospitality), this is the place to visit. The onsen is another highlight, providing a deeply relaxing and culturally rich experience.

We had a wonderful stay at Fukiya. The property is beautiful - a classic upscale Japanese Ryokan. The service was over the top. The entire staff was wonderful and gave us care beyond any experience we have had anywhere else, and the food and baths were wonderful. We highly recommend it.
