Dreamlike layout and 100% perfect in all areas

The facility exceeded my expectations in every respect. Each unit is individually designed and like a private oasis thanks to abundant plants, trees and privacy screens. The small restaurant offers absolutely tasty, super spiced and always freshly prepared food and is prepared right in front of you in a sparkling "open air kitchen". The kitchen crew is mega sweet, cheerful and always available for a chat. I still dream of the curry, for which I also got the recipe from chef Justus. All other employees and especially Benjamin are top. You feel like you're in a big family from day one! Small seating or reclining areas can be found everywhere between the plants and under the trees, so that everyone will really find their desired place, whether sun, shade, hidden, viewing platform, reclining swing etc. I felt comfortable every minute in the 3 weeks, as a solo traveler, and no matter what guests I spoke to.......... everyone felt the same way! Thank you so much to everyone who makes Watamu Beach Cottages such a beautiful place!

This guest got angry because they didn't get refunded due to a last minute cancelation. He never stayed in the property and then preceeded to write vindictive reviews on TripAdvisor (2 of them under different fake names) and Google. People who deliberately do this should be banned from TripAdvisor as it affects the credibility of the platform.

Frustration and sea view

My mother had invited me and my son (11) to Watamu Beach Cottages for their anniversary. We stayed in the particularly beautiful "Topaz" with sea views. In 2020 we have been here before; also at the "Topaz". As in 2020, the Watamu Beach Cottages team was very friendly and accommodating and as always everything was well maintained and clean.
Unfortunately, there is a change in the layout of the cottages that ultimately made the stay very disappointing. The change is the compressor of the newly settled diving school. The compressor is very noisy and is switched on for four to five hours a day and its noise booms except for both terraces of the "Topaz". Relaxation or a little afternoon nap was unfortunately not possible and this constant noise disturbed and frustrated me a lot.
I really appreciated Watamu Beach Cottages as a place of rest and relaxation in 2020, but unfortunately that has changed a lot, even if it only noises for four to five hours a day. It's too bad.

A wonderful place!! Highly recommended!

The cottages were very private, in a great location and well equipped.
The pool was lovely and access to the beach was very easy.
Our 2 bed cottage had a lovely little kitchen which we used a lot. But we also used the restauraunt which was great.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially our Dada, Hariette.
We have already recommended it to friends.

Fantastic!!

We have had the most amazing time in Watamu, the team at dragon fly were Amazing!!!, the cottage was absolutely beautiful, close to the beach and all amenities. Would 100% recommend these to anyone looking at Watamu!,
Thank you all so much for such a wonderful holiday, can’t wait to return ❤️
