Great birdwatching

Jacaranda Elementaite is a lodge close to lake Elementaite. The main guesthouse is the old home of Lord Cole who once owned the land. The sleeping accommodation are cottages in a beautiful garden. Staff is very friendly. Food is good. Zachery organised two walking tours. A fantastic guide and great bird watching. Be aware that other activities are in a nearby park with a steep entrance fee (USD 50 pp).

A true hidden gem at Lake Elementaita

Staying here felt like stepping into a charming old English mansion, surrounded by pure nature and overlooking the most breathtaking views of the lake. The atmosphere is peaceful, elegant, and incredibly relaxing.
What truly made the experience unforgettable was the amazing team. Timothy crafted the most delicious drinks and brought such great energy as a bartender, Sylvia was warm, attentive and made every meal feel special and Zachary took me on a incredible nature walks-his knowledge of birds and the environment made the experience so unique and memorable.
The room was cozy and comfortable, with everything you need to unwind, and the internet was excellent- perfect balance of disconnecting in nature while staying connected when needed.
If you are looking for a serene escape with outstanding service and beautiful surroundings, this place is simply perfect. Can’t wait to come back

A Great Place to Stay in Lake Elementeita

I stayed at Jacaranda Lake Elementeita Lodge for two nights as part of a larger trip to Kenya. My primary purpose was birding but I was interested in taking a little break from birding, maybe doing a nature walk and visiting Karandusi Prehistoric Site.
The lodge has a beautiful garden area that is quite eye-catching. Staff are friendly and professional. Meal cost is reasonable and I would recommend trying to arrange the breakfast included option at least.
I would like to single out the lodge’s guide: Joseph Kodonyo. He offered a flat rate to be a guide for daily activities and it was a really good, cost-effective way of navigating an area I did not know. The weather was not great for my visit but a window of good weather opened up, so I asked Joseph if we could do a nature walk and then visit Karandusi Prehistoric Site. Joseph is an excellent birder but also provides a lot of history for the area. After the nature walk, we walked over to Karandusi from the Lodge and once the tour was done there, we walked back. Joseph’s list of activities that he can arrange for you is quite extensive, so I would definitely hear him out when he introduces himself. He is a great option if you are not part of an organized tour but still want to do something around Lake Elementeita.
Rooms are very comfortable and clean. Mosquito netting is provided around the beds. All in all it was a very comfortable stay and if travellers are interested in doing things around Lake Elementeita, this lodge makes for a great home base.

Great stay.

Very peaceful and serene. Be sure to do the nature walk. The guide is very passionate about his job. The staff is very hospitable and caring always making sure that you are comfortable. Not too far from Nairobi. Good food. You will definitely enjoy the greenery.

Kenya Mission Trip - Great staff, views, activities, clean rooms, location, & superb service, perfect for groups!

Staff - shout out to Patrick, Timothy, Zachariah, Joseph and many more! Superb service all the time. Very clean and nice lodge! Views are so awesome. Many activities at the lodge and surrounding area. Staff know you by name and are very welcoming and attentive
