Perfect post Mt Kenya stay
We stayed in Fern 1 and really enjoyed our stay from start to finish.
Really comfortable bed and amazing bathroom. Excellent breakfast and service. big thanks to Tony for being so friendly and helpful.
I loved the toiletries by Cinnabar Green and large freestanding bath. Amazing way to relax after a busy day.

Accidental discovery!
We ended up here earlier coincidentally with us 5 because of cancellation of a planned hotel. Tony welcomed us in an incredibly friendly, open and quiet way. Upon arrival we were given the choice between 2 accommodation: either 2 separate rooms Fern1/2 or a large luxury glamping tent 1 with beautiful terrace between the crown of the trees. We chose the latter and included the nocturnal animal sounds. Brings you, in my opinion, closer to nature. As a family, you can spend an afternoon/evening here where dinner was served in the tent: unique!
Even though we only stayed 1 night, seen passing through, we were extremely well received and unburdened. Thank you so much!

Amazing tent beside the river!
Fabulous experience! Tent 2 was stunning! Absolutely huge, beautifully appointed and very private. Quite a few steps to reach it but worth the effort every time! Maggie delivered breakfast and dinner if we wanted - Tony kept the room immaculate and makes sure we had everything we needed and Eric made with the best fires every evening! All the staff were friendly and helpful! Would stay again in a heartbeat!

Shrieking hyraxes
There was a lot we liked about Olesamara Collection in Nanyuki:
- Exceptional service provided by Tony, our room attendant, who was very friendly and great at his job
- Lovely luxury safari tent (equipped with just about all we needed, minus a working lighter for the stove, but plus matches for the fireplace); the big bathtub in the big bathroom was a plus, as was the balcony, which we enjoyed sitting out on
- Beautiful setting--during the day
However, and this was a pretty big "however" for us, tree hyraxes live around the safari tents, and if you don't know anything about tree hyraxes, look them up, and watch videos of their "call." (If you don't want to look them up, here's their deal: they're nocturnal, they can live in large groups, and their communication involves actual shrieking, at up to 100 decibels.) They were in the trees right outside our tent, but at 100 decibels, it sounded like they were inside our tent, nay, inside our ear drums. Not only did they keep us (adults) awake, but they also scared our kids.
Now, we are happy to hear animal noises--but only to a certain extent. The roaring of lions in the distance? Cool. The whooping of hyenas? Enjoyable. The call of wattled plovers very early in the morning? Just fine. (Please see my other reviews to see how much we love nature, wildlife, camping in various game parks in sub-Saharan Africa, etc.) Shrieking tree hyraxes right outside our tent ALL NIGHT LONG? I'm sorry, but I just can't, in good conscience, recommend Olesamara, or at least not the safari tents--unless shrieking, barking, insanely loud hyraxes at night and early in the morning is your thing. I'm sorry, Tony: you're great.

Regarding the cooker, we would like to clarify that it is fitted with a self-ignition function. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and will make a point of clearly explaining this to guests on arrival to avoid any inconvenience in the future.

Excellent family holidays
We stayed in the large tent for three nights. The accommodation offered us plenty of space, was comfortably furnished, and very clean. Tony was responsible for us. He made our stay very pleasant. The breakfast buffet in a cozy atmosphere left nothing to be desired and was very tasty. We were able to choose what we wanted for our packed lunch from the cook, and it was also very tasty. There were walking trails in the forest and garden of the property, and we could watch monkeys playing in the forest from the terrace. Thank you very much for the wonderful time!
