A bit lonely but right on the banks of the Mekong
A very secluded hotel right on the Mekong with excellent views over the river. The rooms were clean and in good condition. The restaurant was good, the service at dinner and breakfast also very good.
The swimming pool is very small and not well maintained.

Excellent guesthouse
Superb clean and quiet guesthouse with terrace on the Mekong. A treat. Staff friendly and helpful. We recommend ++.

Nice Hotel, but We Would Not Return
Hotel Riviera Champassak is a really nice hotel with exceptional rooms overlooking the Mekong. The rooms are very spacious and have everything you need for a comfortable stay. The river views are truly beautiful and one of the highlights of the property. Unfortunately, our bed was extremely hard, and we didn’t have a good night of sleep.
While the hotel itself is lovely, the quality of the food on‑site was disappointing. Both the dinner and breakfast we had were quite poor, especially considering the price point. This was definitely the weakest part of the stay.
Another issue that left us with a bad impression was how our driver was treated. We had been traveling with him for 12 days, and everywhere else we stayed, he was always welcomed. When we checked in, we asked if he could join us for breakfast the next morning (we were happy to pay for it), but the receptionist only offered sticky rice and made it clear he wasn’t welcome to eat with us. This felt uncomfortable and very different from the warm hospitality we experienced throughout Laos.
Overall, the hotel has beautiful rooms and amazing views, but the food and the way our driver was treated were big letdowns. Because of this, we would not stay again.
