Great hotel in fantastic location. The hotel is frankly a bit aged, but well kept up. Everything works well, rooms are large and the staff is extremely attentive. The location is the winner for this one.

Canceled booking by property on wedding night
Extremely disappointing experience — especially on my wedding night
I booked the Ramada by Wyndham Downtown Beirut for two nights immediately after my wedding. A few days before arrival, I even called the hotel to inform them that I would be coming directly from my wedding and would likely arrive late. I was told everything was fine, and the reservation was supposed to be paid in cash at the property.
Despite this, at around midnight on the night of my wedding, the hotel attempted to charge my card, which was declined, and they canceled my reservation without contacting me.
I called the service desk immediately to explain the situation. Unfortunately, the employee I spoke with showed absolutely no understanding or willingness to help. His response was simply that the reservation was canceled and that I could book another room at a different price.
I explained that this was my wedding night and that I was standing there with my bride with nowhere to go, but he seemed completely indifferent. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was initially told that no manager was available. After insisting, he contradicted himself and said he would speak to the manager and have someone call me back. Nobody ever called.
The amount of stress this caused on what should have been one of the happiest nights of my life is difficult to put into words. I ultimately had to find another hotel in the middle of the night, on my wedding night, because of a reservation that I had made properly and had even called in advance to discuss.
I have made countless hotel and travel bookings over the years, and I have never experienced anything remotely like this. Mistakes can happen, but the complete lack of empathy, communication, and willingness to resolve the situation was unacceptable.
I strongly hope the management looks into what happened, because this is not how a hotel should treat a guest — especially someone arriving on their wedding night.

After carefully reviewing the reservation and the communication with our team, we would like to clarify a few points. Your reservation was made through Booking.com, with no message or expected arrival time indicated on the reservation. We also attempted to contact you using the telephone number provided on Booking.com to confirm the reservation, but unfortunately, we were unable to reach you.
When you contacted the hotel, the conversation was regarding whether breakfast could be served in the room, and you mentioned that you had a wedding. However, it was not communicated to our team that it was your own wedding or that you would be arriving late that night.
Regarding the reservation, the credit card provided through Booking.com was showing as insufficient. In accordance with Booking.com’s procedures, guests are given the opportunity to update their payment details when a card cannot be validated. If the card is not updated within the given timeframe, the reservation may be automatically cancelled by the system.
When you called the hotel during the night regarding your reservation, our Front Office colleague informed you that you could come to the hotel and that we would provide you with a room. In fact, our team initially offered you an upgraded room to accommodate you.
We are genuinely sorry that the situation resulted in a disappointing experience, and we understand that it was particularly stressful given the circumstances. Nevertheless, we hope this clarification provides a complete and accurate understanding of what occurred and the efforts made by our team to assist you.

Fantastic location and extremely helpful staff on the ground. The property itself is a bit dated but everything was very clean, comfortable and working well.

Again and again!
The stay was very good and occurred due to the flight cancellation by Pegasus Airlines. The staff of MEA (Middle East Airlines) on the ground were helpful and supported us at their expense in making the hotel booking.
