My kids would have stayed forever

We wanted to see the Hill of Crosses and needed to sleep somewhere close, so we picked this hotel. It isn't fancy at all, but the restaurant was very good, the staff was super nice, the room was perfect for our family of 4, and the outside facilities were outstanding.
My kids (who are 10 and 15) ran around like little kids, and had so much fun! It was a much needed break after many hours in the car.
The price was reasonable for a family. We ate dinner and breakfast there as well, and the food was great.
The kids were so sad when we had to leave--even though we were headed to the beach.

Convenient location; very helpful and friendly hosts

I arrived late in the evening and without a booking; although the hotel is family run I was settled in within 15 minutes of arriving. The Girele team were very helpful and went out of their way to help me with trip planning in the area. The room was simple, comfortable and had everything you needed for a late night arrival and early morning departure. Location extremely convenient for visiting the Hill of Crosses. Great value.

A quiet night with good fight at the right price.

Hotel Girele has an interesting “farm-like” lay-out with the biggest building being the home to the restaurant (which serves very taste and well-priced food with a smile) and the other buildings housing different hotel rooms. There is a tennis and basketball court should the weather permit. The rooms are basic but clean with good beds. Personally I liked the almost solemn atmosphere. I had a room overlooking the forest which also meant it was very quiet. There is ample parking at the front, and situated just outside Siauliai on the way to Riga, it is well-located. The only minor issue was that the wifi did not reach my room, but I think that only one or two rooms struggled with that as reception is fine in the main building.
Will go back!

Reasonably priced - handy overnight stop

This has fairly basic facilities, reasonably clean but very small rooms. The restaurant was adequate, don't expect gourmet and breakfast is exceedingly basic and you get the feeling they aren't really interested in offering breakfast. It is $15.00 Lts extra, no menu and not offered until 9 am. The grounds are brilliant and would be perfect if you have young children although tack some mozzie spray. There are pigs, rabbits and sheep plus a playground and sandpit. It was a good stop driving from Latvia to Vilnius, wanting to visit the Hill of Crosses (a lovely 20-30 minutes walk from Girele) and unfortunately wished we had requested a visit to the airport to see the old soviet planes. This has to be organised 1 week minimum in advance. Will do that next time. Basic accommodation but priced accordingly.

Good for the price.

This hotel is very economic, we have stayed on more expensive camp sites! Its fairly quiet and quite remote. We stayed there specifically to visit the Hill of Crosses. Which we did, it's just down the road and well worth the visit. Stopped off here midday visited the hill of crosses in the afternoon then on to Riga the next day.
Seems to me most people just overnight here, our room was basic but good for the price.
Free internet in the hotel restaurant but quality of internet very frustrating to use, I wish hotels would not provide internet at all than to provide poor on/off internet. We gave up in the end which was a nuisance because we wanted to find accommodation for the next night...
Bit of a problem with mosquitoes whilst we were there but nothing too serious!
