Perfect location, great stay

Here for a corporate event .. Stayed in a log cabin, there are multiple set in a grassy park area, 1 min from the lake shore, tennis courts, basketball, swimming, wood fire sauna, perfectly maintained

Restaurant

The food was very delicious, great service, very cozy (fireplace, the interior- feels like home:)). It is lovely in summer time, but absolutely amazing in winter time- Christmas mood is in the air at Alauso slenis :). (Check opening times- and it is good to book in advance)

Nice setting, terrible hospitality

Lovely lodges and beautiful lake but let down by the hospitality. Nobody says hello or is willing to make an effort to help. Food ok. The wedding we went to was superb but hosted by an outside caterer I believe who were superb.

beautiful location

The lake is large and stunning and perfect for swimming, boating or simply sitting by.The staff werevery polite and helpful.
The log cabins are spacious and well made. Prices are expensivefor Lithuania but reasonable on an international scale.
There is no air-conditioning and poor Wi-Fi in the cabins.
Overall I'm glad I went but no plans to go back.

Beautiful place, but very overpriced

We stayed in Alsuso slenis in August 2014 and were renting a big two bedroom house named Vila for 500 Litas (~145 Euro) per night. The chalet was spacious and comfortable, all made of wood. The house and the furnishings were of good quality, but the bathrooms had rather cheap installations. The smell in the toilets was unpleasant, probably it was coming from the canalization. The shower was not very clean. One big window on the second floor was not secured and very dangerous for kids.
The house had a small kitchenette which consisted of a miniscule fridge, a sink and a water boiler. There was no stove to cook on and also no dishes for cooking. This meant that guests were kind of forced to go to the restaurant for hot meals or rent a barbecue place for 40 Litas. So the place is not really self-catering as you can only prepare cold meals in a house.
The veranda was big and overlooking the lake, but only had a very small table with three chairs. We were 6 people, so we could not all fit at any table (inside or outside), meaning that we had to move the bigger inside table with chairs in and out for every meal depending if we wanted to eat inside or outside.
The beds were very clean and comfortable. It was also very quiet there. We slept very well during our stay.
Alauso slenis offers a lot of activities, but prices are juicy and much higher than in other homestead places in Lithuania. For example, sauna costs 250 Litas and hot tub 300 Litas (~72 and 87 Euro), extras like veniks and bathrobes not included. No surprise, that during our stay nobody was using sauna and hot tub.
The lake is big and clean, nice to take a swim, a boat or for fishing.
In general, it is a very beautiful and quiet place offering a range of activities. But prices are a rip off.
