For the visit to the Tsingy of Bemaraha.

Very pleasant hotel with a superb pool. The staff is attentive and very professional. The bungalows are very quiet and very comfortable. I can only highly recommend this place, which overlooks the valley with an extraordinary view at sunset.

Hotel with great potential but unfortunately weaknesses in room and housekeeping

We spent two nights at the Hotel Olympe du Bemaraha. Unfortunately, it didn't leave a good impression.
The hotel is very large (many tour groups stay here) and built on a slope. This means that for some rooms you have to climb very steep stairs.
The decor is practically identical to the other Relais hotels.
We got a room in the flat, upper part, close to the car driveway.
We arrived only after dark, so the first impression of our room was not good due to the poor lighting. However, although we were travelling as a couple, we had got a triple room, which offered very little space because of the third bed and left a crushing impression, especially in the darkness. A twin room was no longer available, we were told. During the day it looked a bit friendlier in the sunshine, but we didn't want to be in it longer than necessary. But the seating area of the terrace was nice.
Unfortunately, some was broken in the room (e.g. the lamp) and the drain of the sink was leaking, i.e. we always stood in a pool of water when we washed our hands. This can still be explained because of the poor infrastructure. However, the light switches were covered with a scrapable layer of dirt. Cleaning was not done even after complaint. A spare room was offered to us only for the second night, but this would have been right on the steep slope.
This was also the first hotel where no water bottles were available in the room. You had to buy them extra.
It was also the first hotel where the tour guide pointed out that all valuables should always be taken and not locked in the safe in the room. That left a strange feeling.
Electricity is available from 5-7 and 5-10 pm, WiFi again only at reception. However, the power is often out. There are extremely many mosquitoes at reception as the pool is right next to it. From the pool area, however, you have a magnificent view over a wide plane, which is especially nice at sunrise and sunset.
The night is quiet. In the bathroom there was always a frog sitting on the wall in the morning, but it didn't bother. It makes sense to take a shower in the afternoon (after visiting Tsingy), as then the water from the collector is hot.
Breakfast is offered as a buffet, eggs must be ordered extra.
Overall, a hotel with great potential, but a higher quality hotel (Soleil des Tsingy) would be more recommended if you have the choice.

A varied buffet with fresh, local, and quality products. There is something for everyone (sweet, savory, healthy options).

: A big thank you to the reception and service team. The welcome was warm, professional, and always attentive to our needs.

Olympe de Bemaraha

An unforgettable stay!
After 8 hours of driving, we were rewarded with an exceptional welcome at the Olympe de Bemaraha Hotel. The setting is superb, peaceful, and offers a breathtaking view.
An address that I recommend without hesitation!

Experience 2026

As the group leader, I find a significant improvement regarding the food and the rooms. The welcome at the reception is warm, the service in the dining area is functional with a head waiter (Lalaina) who knows his job well. I always return very willingly.
