Courtyard Penang Still Shines After Years Away
It had been 3-4 years since our last stay at Courtyard Penang, and we were definately impressed that the hotel is still kept to such high standards. The concierge team greeted us and took our bags the moment we walked in; I cannot recall the Malay gentleman's name but he was so helpful and informative. Check-in was a breeze thanks to SINDU from the front office, who even upgraded our room, and J.C. was always ready with any information we needed. Public areas and rooms felt five-star, and our room attendant KHALAK fulfilled every request. We also met the Executive Housekeeper in the lobby, who personally asked if we were comfortable. Breakfast was excellent every morning, and the Lamb Lasagna was very unique, with the chef himself checking if we needed anything more. KAREN in the restaurant was a true star, always on her feet and serving with a big smile. GANESON from concierge remembered us from years ago and gave my son special attention, so my son insisted I mention him. Thank you Courtyard Penang for a wonderful stay, truly 100% five stars.

Four out of four for Marriott in Penang
Logistics required some last minute bookings so we ended up at the Courtyard in Penang.
Solid enough property, good check-in by Faiz and apologised for lack of suite availability... one of the Courtyard brand's weaknesses.
Free beer and nibbles in the evening though compensated. Clean an spacious bedroom, big bathroom. Staff uniformly smiley.
It is a little pricey in my view for the offering but it makes for a reasonable backup when in Georgetown.
So, four nights, four properties and all are more than acceptable. Good job!

Another Wonderful Stay at Courtyard Penang
I always stay at courtyard whenever I’m in Penang, which is about every three months for my facial treatments. I’ve always had a good experience here, but this time was especially memorable thanks to Mr. Gameson and Mr. Kumar. They were both incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout my stay. Their warm hospitality really made such a difference and made this visit an exceptional one. Thank you both for going above and beyond. I truly appreciate it and will definitely be back!

Wonderful mid week getaway for couples
Excellent location! Walkable location to good food outlets. Excellent gym. Attentive staff. Friendly and knowledgeable doorman, Mr Ganesan, who is a walking directory. Rooms are in very good condition.

A hotel lacking customer service
Check in at the front desk set the scene for a hotel that lacks customer service. We were basically ignored bar the service tax to be paid. No welcome, no introduction, no answers to our questions. Being a loyal Marriott member also means nothing bar the emails sent prior. We were foreign tourists. Three staff with no customer skills all just talking to themselves. The restaurant called the kitchen lacks staff, slow to take orders and missed orders. We had kids and the hotel have no time for them. It is a pity as this hotel has so much potential. Floor 11 has a pool but the cafe is no longer staffed and is dead.
Hotel rooms itself are well appointed and clean, WiFi is good. The hotel is connected to an abandoned building with just a 7-11 shop and a couple of cafes.
