Power failure for around 1 hour

The entire floor are power failure for around 1 hours at evening around 9pm. The entire room is black out and no air con. This is the evening before our Kuching Marathon, because we need to wake up 2am morning so we need to rest early, due to no air con, and the power jumper is jump more than 5 time after power recovery, we deciced to move out the hotel and share the room with our other friends at other hotel.

Friendly staff run down rooms

Nice reception and friendly staff but rooms are worn out - okay by back packer standards but go else where for quality. Hot water takes forever in the morning plug doesn't work waste water sprays on you as you empty sink. Towels are brown room smelt damp. Reasonable location for museums and waterfront.

just awful

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT! we were greeted by a doorman/security guard who opened the door and blew cigarette smoke in our faces, the receptionist chewed gum while checking us in and talking to us. the security guy then became porter as he showed us to our room but made no attempt to take the bag, infact laughed that it was his job to carry it.
he led us into a dingy room, dirty carpet, cigarette burn in the bedspread, scuffed walls and badly scratched and marked furniture. we could not walk around the bed as one piece was so strangely placed we presumed it must be covering up something worse. we asked to be shown another room which turned out to be in the same state but smaller.
the bathroom was uninviting and something was leaking water over the floor. the toilet flush handle was broken.
on the up side, the sheets were clean but the pillow was like a brick.
we moved to the Merdeka Palace just down the road for about 20RM a day more. it's undergoing some big refurb so i think our cheaper room reflected the price, but it was still miles and miles better than the Borneo.

Dirty and expensive

Me and my boyfrind stayed in this hotel 3 night , but just because all the others hotels were full. I've found the Borneo hotel dirty ( the bathroom was terrible an also without hot water). We also had the bad idea to see under the bed and we found everything...
During our stay the staff was not so helpful and polite.
Kuching has a lot of hotels and guest houses chiper and nice, so it' s better to look for an other hotel.
